I believe they have to be without a half a point to trigger a recount but not runoff.

Checks & balances. Joe will be a one-term president, and I can't see the Dems hanging onto Senate for long. Hopefully the lesson learned will be when the guy at the top is bad, they bring down the party with em. Been interesting to see what would've happened had the been more outspoken about Trump.

Where exactly were these so-called checks and balances the last 4 years? Is it because that every single federal government employee who contradicted tRump got kicked out? Our installing a cult leader Supreme court judge in the last year of the presidency? (that alone will gift that keeps on giving for many years to come, mark my words)
Or Head of Justice OKs to withhold evidence and witnesses during Congress's Impeachment trial?
How many times exactly national debt was mentioned by GOP in the last four years? Mark my words - it will be mentioned very often and very soon.

When it occurred to her that the mob was going to rip and tear ANY congressperson they could get their hands on, regardless of party or fealty, she had that sudden “what have I done” moment. I meant under normal political conditions, but yeah under Trump noone.

I can't speak for him, but for me I'd like to know who specifically is the radical left? I see where Bernie would've been a huge problem, but otherwise I'm not hearing any specifics.

In Europe AOC would be seen as possibly a Social Democrat, center left, but not a socialist. Calling her radical left would be seen as ridiculous unless you're a right wing extremist.

Why stop there? You mean I pay taxes for upkeep of roads that are being used by people that don't? No way.

So just ANYONE can call the police and fire department and expect them to just show up and put out a fire? WITHOUT A BILL?!?!? Crazy to give such things away for free.

We've got this lovely idea that "I" should have everything, and "they" should have nothing "they" can't pay for. WTF kind of thinking is that?

I had a conversation with my ever more right leaning mother (working for an oil company has made her...different) about paying taxes for schools that honestly aren't good and are downright terrible in some parts of TX. She didn't think we should have to if we don't have kids. My response? "I don't want to live in a place with a bunch of dumbasses so I'll gladly let my tax money go to education." Apparently she hadn't thought of that.

I still can't peg where people like her get their information. She used to be TOTALLY different on these subjects. People must have much weaker minds than I thought they did.

That's as nice as I'm capable of being. What I type here is a much filtered down, more PC version than what initially is thought of in my brain.

I have to be careful so as not to offend while getting my point across. That is, if I actually want a discussion.
