I'd love the chance to do a real side by side with other subs. That thing will obviously have great impact, but the higher qts might leave me wanting with music.

If this is the same driver that Steve has, I wouldn't be too concerned. There might be something else on the horizon as well, but I don't think I'm supposed to say. I'll pass along more information as it is passed and okay'ed to me.

I had a TSAD18-V1 in an 18.0SE of Nathan's...my TSAD21-V2 in my new 21.0 should be here soon. Music, high cross over, clean distortion free play...all in Nathan's wheel house. The TSADS are remarkable. I know with the V2, if he used a ferrite/ceramic magnet structure, it would add another 120lbs to the driver. He likes his Neo...I like that he likes his NEO...my back likes Neo.

Yes that's right. If you haven't heard by now Funk audio will be releasing drivers for the DIY community so I'll finally be able to get my hands on that TSAD driver in 18" or 21".

Hmm, they're definitely cool looking, but there's no hard plans for the 32" (I think it was 32") subs from Mach 5 Audio. Plus I'm not totally sold that they'll as low distortion as I'd like. Anywho, I should probably finish the sub I'm working on before I get any more

I think after your next sub it's time to build some mains. Subwoofers are for rookies. Mains are much more fun.

Well, I did build the Testarossas. They were fun, but ultimately not as satisfying as I'd hoped. I already have my next project lined up. These should definitely be satisfying.

Why not do your own design? I think you'd be amazed at the results.

I don't think I'm ready for all that. Basically it would amount to me choosing drivers and begging Dennis for help.

Basically it would amount to me choosing drivers, begging Dennis for help. Then Dennis explains why my choice of drivers creates difficulties in crossover design, followed by Dennis choosing different drivers, and I end up building one of his existing DIY designs.

Save time and money – just do it as Dennis says.

Basically it would amount to me choosing drivers, begging Dennis for help. Then Dennis explains why my choice of drivers creates difficulties in crossover design, followed by Dennis choosing different drivers, and I end up building one of his existing DIY designs.

Save time and money – just do it as Dennis says.

Lol, Dennis was kind enough to give me a design and I may yet build that, but for the moment it's a little too similar to the Phil 3's and the Testarossas to make it an interesting next build. I'm more interested in that high efficiency design that Jeff B. There is another design that would also be fun and high eff, but the designers added a bump to the low end that I'm not crazy about. Jeff's is high eff and designed for flat FR. Plus with the baffle provided I could use it as a template for some nice ply.

That's the dilemma with any of Dennis's designs. They are all excellent sounding, and they all share a similar sound across the mid range. Once you have some, what's the point of building more?

I think you already know how I am not impressed by 'high sensitivity' speakers. (High eff is easier to say, but a misnomer.)

The one's I linked are a top to bottom Jeff B design, and I'm pretty comfortable with something with his name on it, like I would be with anything with Dennis' name on it. Can't hurt to take a little pressure off of the home circuits when I'm adding another sub
