.....Guys, here it is, a final sumnation on having rears wired in series from a slave amp for six days.....
....you can put out-of-phase rears on a 4.2 system and bring your mains to life....you have to be able to vary the volume of the rears, individually, for localizing a favorite chair or position on a couch though, along with the same requirements of the mains....a home slave amp almost invariably has gains, so you're home on the rears, but if you are using a surround receiver for mains, and sucure a slave amp for the rears and the mains are overpowering the rears, which they probably won't be, you can L-pad down the mains for about 10 bucks....guys, what I'm listening to came to life....these mains took on a different presence and rose up, I can't say it any simpler....I notice the biggest difference in the voices singing....what really made things get scary, was when I crossed the inputs to the rear amp last night, and suddenly had stuff jumping out at me and whizzing by me I kid you not with the rears cross-firing the left and right stereo to the mains....all kidding, jokes, and humor aside, you need to hear this....when you click the subs into the mix tastefully with no phases being stepped on, I don't see how it could sound much better in a home theater localized zone....dead serious on this one....thanks, Clint....
