Another thing about the Pompeo presser: if you are serious public servant who wants an objective ballot count, why would you laugh about Trump getting a 2nd term?
Thanks I needed a good laugh this morning. The "Shadow" Conspiracy plot LOL. They turned up the voice matrix button to 11 haha. Story seem legit too. They OF COURSE were burning ballots next to a "Biden/Harris" van!Laura totally believes the plot with her stiff smile.
No video evidence, but hey, that's alright....

AZ is seeing more than 300 people per day moving there from other places. That, IMO, is what has caused the shift. Most of the people who would vote one way or another haven't changed their ways so much that the election would swing this far.Another fallen domino...

Biden carries Arizona, flipping a longtime Republican stronghold
For just the second time in more than seven decades, a Democrat will carry Arizona in a presidential election, a monumental shift for a state that was once a Republican stronghold.www.cnn.com

Americans can settle anywhere they want inside USA and vote, or am I missing something being from the other side of the big pond? (Apart from the usual GOP voter suppression, that is.)AZ is seeing more than 300 people per day moving there from other places. That, IMO, is what has caused the shift. No. He's just mentioning a significant trend in the US of people living in high-cost coastal states are moving in such large numbers to the southern and southwestern states, tipping the scales to the less conservative politics of the Democratic party.Americans can settle anywhere they want inside USA and vote, or am I missing something being from the other side of the big pond? What are you trying to say? That the votes from those not born there are less "valuable"?
I though I might have misunderstood him as the article refers to increased diversification and urbanization favouring Democrats, but did not say anything about US internal immigration as such.No. He's just mentioning a significant trend in the US of people living in high-cost coastal states are moving in such large numbers to the southern and southwestern states, tipping the scales to the less conservative politics of the Democratic party.
That's what I've been reading, as well. The demographic face of America is changing.AZ is seeing more than 300 people per day moving there from other places. That, IMO, is what has caused the shift. Most of the people who would vote one way or another haven't changed their ways so much that the election would swing this far.
With the addition of Arizona's 11 electoral college votes, the count is now Biden 290 – Trump 217. It's over, Biden wins.Another fallen domino...

I was commenting on the shift in AZ, that's all. Yes, we can move anywhere and vote, as long as we register to vote. Many are leaving California because of the problems, but also because they can sell their house and buy something that's equivalent for a lot less money in almost any other part of the country and that works great, especially for people who can transfer within their company or work from home. I don't know why you need to infer something that wasn't implied.Americans can settle anywhere they want inside USA and vote, or am I missing something being from the other side of the big pond? i guess i didn't phrase my comment correctly .. i wasn't even referring to you as the issue of ignorance of how things work... i run into people all the time *that pick a news source*(how. i have no idea) and then let themselves learn civics through the eyes of partisan rhetoric... the 2000 election was an aberration , in that it came down to 500 or so votes in a large state that were hard to read for some, hanging chads, ect...the 2016 election was fairly "normal".. this one (2020) as well... the difference is hard core politics in our news sources.. also the advent of 24/7 news that needs controversy to get ratings that allow them to exist.. and the biggest difference is a leader that has zero interest in the country he swore allegiance to , but rather a marked self serving interest.. and his ability to use state tv (foxnews) as a springboard to recruit masses of people who have no interest in how things have worked for 240 years to keep them safe.. it's not going to change.. get used to it .. cable news is the monster that needs to feed and controversy(often where there is none) is the food ....It may be Civics 101 now, but from the time I was born, Eisenhower finished his 2nd term, Kennedy was elected and assassinated, Johnson assumed the office and was elected, Nixon was elected and left office, Ford lasted one term, Carter came and went, Reagan served two terms before Bush I, Clinton served two terms before W and the 2000 election was the only one of the bunch that was in any doubt- all of the others died in office, served two terms, left early or lost after one because they screwed up. It's only in the last 20 years that we have seen contested elections and there have only been three of them- the preceding 43 years were decided more simply.
voter suppression is a gop mainstay.. the mythology of widespread "illegals" voting is the impetus for the "id" laws that suppress voting...in 2020 "trump hate" helped get the suppressed vote to the polls..I was commenting on the shift in AZ, that's all. If voter suppression is so wide spread, how did this election see more than 149 million people vote, compared with about 128 million in 2016?
the briefings started late as i recall , but weren't cancelled .. Clinton wasn't screwing with the system..I guess you'd have to go back before G.W. to see how it went then.
The 9/11 commission made a comment about the late start of intel briefs for GW and that went to the SCOTUS causing a delay as that was only a 500+ difference in Florida

A lot of people move to warmer areas when they retire, too- some don't require people to pay income tax on Social Security income, some have no state income tax at all but may offset that with higher sales tax and registration fees. Others move to a place where they can be farther from high crime areas in addition to the other reasons, some want to be closer to their kids and grandkids, some want to be closer to attractions that aren't available in their home state and some want to spend Winters in a warmer place. In my case, I'm approaching retirement and want to escape harsh Winter weather. I no longer ski (clown feet, hard to find boots that fit well) and I have reached the point of thinking that snow removal is a colossal waste of time & money and cold weather has lost its charm. I would prefer to go to Winter if I want it, rather than have 6 months of it every year, sometimes more. Nice to look at, just tired of it.I though I might have misunderstood him as the article refers to increased diversification and urbanization favouring Democrats, but did not say anything about US internal immigration as such.
Thanks for the clarification!

It's not the number of votes suppressed, it's whose votes are suppressed.I was commenting on the shift in AZ, that's all. Yes, we can move anywhere and vote, as long as we register to vote. Assuming for a microsecond that you only want US citizens to vote, why is a photo ID such a problem for you when people who have been polled don't agree? We can't open a checking account, receive government benefits, drive, cash a check, join the military, go to college or high school, or do a lot of things without a photo ID and state ID cards that are issued by the DMV have been required for decades. Have you never watched a TV show since before the '50s, where a cop stops someone and asked "Do you have ID?"?voter suppression is a gop mainstay.. the mythology of widespread "illegals" voting is the impetus for the "id" laws that suppress voting...in 2020 "trump hate" helped get the suppressed vote to the polls..
