4 years ago.. the only difference was Hillary conceded.. like an honest person would..edit :the transitions generally start pretty quickly.. it's about national security and fluid govt..

Right- I just didn't remember seeing them starting when the results weren't absolutely finished, although they may have been more quiet about it. I know the briefings begin early.

see that's the thing.. this counting goes on for weeks in any close states.. we know the outcome and the work(s) begin(s).. this all goes on while the counts go on.. in Cali right now there are several races in question and counting goes on despite the knowledge that Biden carried the state .. it amazes me that others don't pay this any heed.. it's civics 101.. don't get me wrong, i'm not chastising you.. but there is a lot of misinformation going on that makes people sure they know "better" than people like me that actually live this stuff as a way of life.. i guess maybe it's because i have disposable time and an interest in what goes on..

My elderly mother took Aricept for her memory in her twilight years. It was very effective in treating her forgetfulness.

The 9/11 commission made a comment about the late start of intel briefs for GW and that went to the SCOTUS causing a delay as that was only a 500+ difference in Florida

It may be Civics 101 now, but from the time I was born, Eisenhower finished his 2nd term, Kennedy was elected and assassinated, Johnson assumed the office and was elected, Nixon was elected and left office, Ford lasted one term, Carter came and went, Reagan served two terms before Bush I, Clinton served two terms before W and the 2000 election was the only one of the bunch that was in any doubt- all of the others died in office, served two terms, left early or lost after one because they screwed up. It's only in the last 20 years that we have seen contested elections and there have only been three of them- the preceding 43 years were decided more simply.
