***Braces for another of BN's "you're not a real man...I'm a real man" rants.***I'm not afraid to admit it, I'm a big fan of Wham!.
Are you guys gonna force me to get out my "Man's Handbook" to quote the chapter and verse concerning this stuff?
LOL....WHAM/TFF....HeHeHe.....c'mon man!! You're killing me here!! I could have forgiven you if you were like...ummmm....like 10-13 at the time(or a girl).I'm not afraid to admit it, I'm a big fan of Wham!. George Michael has an amazing voice. I did, and still do, enjoy very much Tears for Fears. I got out of high school in 1984.
Ok, I'll concede that did happen back then. If the majority of your friends didn't think it was cool enough you didn't go along with it either. I didn't care for WHAM or George Michael but every once in a while I hear the song 'Careless Whisper' on the radio and I think I need to get that...someday (no rushDon't get me wrong because today I am as much of a sucker for most 80's music as the next guy who grew up in that era, but back then when the music was new.......I had my standards. LOL
That's ok buddy!!!!. I don't mind getting tagged for my tastesLOL....WHAM/TFF....HeHeHe.....c'mon man!! You're killing me here!! With that said, his tribute to Freddy Mercury with Queen was outstanding!!! Freddy had an amazing voice.......and I'm not sure if anyone could have pulled it off as well as George. His version of "Somebody to Love" was incredible.
And.....oh yes........Queen.....WOW....did they have some good music
I'm sure Darien will be shocked to know Queen was also one of my favorite bands growing up
Now THAT was music!!
PS....I was class of '86.
My favorite Wham! song it's called "Like A Baby", from the "Make It Big" CD. And on the subject of George Michael, his video "I Want Your Sex", had this amazing oriental girl, Kathy Jeung, man!!!!!, I had a crush on herOk, I'll concede that did happen back then. If the majority of your friends didn't think it was cool enough you didn't go along with it either. How can you possibly compare Depeche Mode to the likes of Wham? They're at totally opposite ends of the music spectrum (in terms of 'darkness/moodiness').Would you like a scoop of WHAM to go with [Depeche Mode]...?
Did someone say Oriental / Asian Girl?"I Want Your Sex", had this amazing oriental girl, Kathy Jeung, man!!!!!, I had a crush on her, she was so hot!!!!!

HeHe....I can see it now......I've been thinking about the whole notion of so-called 'chick music' and I have to laugh. Such a thing cannot exist if you think about it. Music transcends gender.
I wonder who bent over firstGeorge Michael and Boy George were out picking daisies.
Maybe where YOU live Buckeye, guys were too busy chewing tobacco and trying to be macho to be able to honestly listen to music, but where I grew up, most people were pretty open-minded. You don't even know me dude, so don't try to accuse me of being a kid. I graduated high school in 1987, so that will tell you my age group.First of all...... are you even old enough to know who the MJ fan base was back in the early-mid 80s? Were you even born yet???
Secondly........Michael Jackson was, in fact, girls (or nerdy guy) music.
Hmmm.....based on your comment, if you were old enough to have lived through the era(beyond wearing diapers)..........I'd guess your other favorites were WHAM, Tears For Fears, Madonna, & Flock of Seagulls?![]()
