I would really love an outboard automatic room correction system like TaCT. Something that goes between the processor and amplifier. But I don't really expect that to be something that can come down the pipeline at a reasonable price anytime soon. I'm thinking ~$500/channel at most. XLR inputs and outputs, in addition to RCA. I suppose it would have to have really good ADA conversion, otherwise you've just defeated your processor's DACs. If it could take digital LPCM signals, that'd be amazing, but extremely unlikely. Maybe good use of the Firewire port on the DMC-1 though.

Other than that, the Reference 4 and Reference 200 speakers.

A/V Receiver

A solid, mid-level 7/9.1 receiver. Though there are a few available that offer decent performance for the price, I believe AV123 may be able to provide a superior receiver with pre/pro capability that best many of the existing mid-level receivers today while still keeping pricing at a reasonably affordable level. -TD

I would like a stereo pre-amp with a user selectable bass crossover and twin "sub out" RCA jacks. Crossover adjustable in 5-Hz increments from 15HZ on upto 100Hz. Even some towers need help below 30Hz.

Also a remote, por favor.

Contest Question: What product/type of product would you like AV123 to bring to the market next and why? (Please limit your responses to speakers and electronics)
Two things:
1: More finish options (flat/gloss black) on the UFW10 sub.
2: An affordable 2.1 integrated amplifier to accompany the X-series speakers/sub.

I would like to see a more stylized reference speaker. One that does not look like a 'typical' speaker. I would also like to see a 15" sealed subwoofer.

I would like to see AV123 develop a series of in-wall/in-ceiling speakers. Design enclosures to ensure the sound is not dependent on the design of the wall/ceiling where it is installed. There should be both new construction and rework systems available. Included should be an in-wall subwoofer design as well.

I would like to see a 12" subwoofer (in the $400.00 range) that plays well for HT. It would have to hit high teens up to 80 (htz) with a relativelly flat curve.

Integrated receiver/amp/cdplayer (with optional cassette tape player)
in the $200-$500 range. (I'd love to be able to give friends a low-end
audiophile stereo system for listening to music. With the x-ls, I'm set for
speakers, but electronics are trickier.)

Expand the x-series line! Give us some more of those awesome speakers at great prices...they'll be sure to be a big hit if they are in a whole range of speakers! It would be another great solution for those looking for entry level, budget sound, but without too much compromise for the price.

I would like to see a more powerfull subwoofer built to the same standards as your other products. The sub should have a smaller footprint than most subs with similar power.

Without a doubt in my mind... I have to say a subwoofer cabable of producing sub-sonic frequencies.

I would like to see position feedback, instead of or with equalization used with a passive radiator. Any number of drivers or sizes from 8" to 15" with FTC rated digital amplifiers and attractvie cabinet finishes.

You seem to carry everything but sound treatments and home theater decor.

More Emotiva stuff would be great, multi-room amps......

Highly engineering speaker / sub boxes

I would like to see some high value / small size units from AV123. Something like HSU venquilist serises. However, to make an impression it would have to be really unique. Ie. use carbon fiber to stiffen the casing, eliminating flex... high quality damping material. Ie. design a system that really is different and uses all the high tech materials that we have available today for the housing itself. Why should it be 3/4" plywood that weighs 60 lbs? An injection mold machine with some FEA work on the design should be able to create a housing that is sufficently stiff to eliminate reverb without adding space and weight. Why should fiberglass be used as damping material? Couldn't a foam pattern be sprayed into the housing that would serve the same effect, while reducing the space required?

This kind of work should also be applied (or especially applied) to subs. Why does the large subs have to weight 100lbs? Because they use wood. A not so cheap... not so efficent material. Use some industrial design work and come up with some revolutionary designs.
