Impact Acoustics Residential Structured Wiring products are designed for ease of installation to provide you with more flexibility. This starter kit has been designed to include the basic building blocks for a Residential Structured Wiring system. The kit contains a 28in enclosure to hold home-run wires and house the distribution modules. The kit includes the modules and wall plates to wire four zones for telephone, four zones for cable television and four zones for a local area network. You can expand to eight zones as your needs grow or if you have a large wiring project. This kit also includes a four zone audio distribution module and four volume controls to add distributed audio to a home or small office.

dont know...I am buying my first house this fall and I will look into then

I would do some research and if it made sence I would hire an installer

Whole house audio/video is the primary interest I have in it. Hidden wires is nice too.

Time, cost, waiting till I move into new house

No. This is the first time I am hearing of it.

What aspect of a residential structured wiring system interests you the most?
Professional look, high reliability, reduced confusion since all essentials included in kit.

What is the greatest barrier you face in purchasing/installing a residential structured wiring system?
I will be integrating the wiring system into existing house and I will have to fish wires through the walls.

What manufacturer immediately comes to mind when you think of the term residential structured wiring?
None.

Would you install a residential structured wiring system yourself or would you hire an integrator?
Hire. I dont have the equipment or skill to fish wires through conduits laid out previously.

1 - Not yet, need to own a house before I do.
2 - Hidden wires and the professional look.
3 - Not owning a house.
4 - To be honest, none, since I cant do it at this time and I havent done any research on it.
5 - Probably do it myself if I had the time. I think it would cost way too much to have someone do it for me.

Difficulties in routing, price.

I dont really know any, haven't gotten that deep into the fantasy yet

Definitely hire, there are not enough swear words in the world to make me want to route wires through existing walls!

hmmm...noone I can think of.

I would hire an integrator as I am not very handy! :D

Actually we had a full system installed when we built our house 2 years ago, but it only covered the top 2 floors. As I finish the basement, I can already tell I am running out of space and options in my box

Centrally located management of all the IT aspects of the home

Ease of use. The ability to do anything anywhere (i.e. listen to what I want, watch what I want in any part of the house)

Cost.

None yet.

Do as much possible myself and hire out for the rest.
