Contest Questions: What do you use to listen to your music? Do you have a portable music player? If so, what is it, what music format does it accept, and where do you purchase your music?

I lisen to music in my car ('04 SAAB 9-3 Linear) OEM speakers, on my Ipod (ripped to AACS at 256K from CDs or from the Itunes store), on my Headphones (Sienh HD180s), or a "boombox" player.

Most of my music is purchased on CD with some Itunes songs (convience/cost).

I had a Dell 20-gig DJ MP3 player that just got stolen from my car last weekend! Aaarrrggghhhh! I'll probably replace it with an ipod or other player. We listen to most of our music at home on our main system and Russound multi-zone amp. Music is bought wherever I can...at smaller Ma & Pa shops whenever we can, but usually at Best Buy or Amazon.

I primarily use my iPod to listen to music. I have an iPod connection for my car stereo, and I also use it while I am working. I encode all of my cds at 320 kbps onto my ipod, but I also purchase songs from iTunes occasionally.

I listen to most of my music in my HT and of course in the car while driving to work, I used to use both my HT and my stereo only system, but I haven't replaced my stereo only system yet.

CDs & DVDs played over my Marantz CD player or Pioneer DVD player are my sources, and the music channels on cable I use for background music sometimes, usually during parties. I use CD's in my car indash changer. My HT system mainly consists of Def Tech speakers, monoblock power amps, and Denon 3806 functioning as a prepro.

I have a 3rd generation iPod 40Gig which I use mainly when jogging or working out; I play AAC format files ripped from my CD's, I occasionally will use iTunes Music Store to get a song or two, but most all my music (99% cd's) comes from one of the locally owned music store and sometimes Amazon.com.

I listen to music either on my good setup, which is speakers and processor/amp, or my iPod. The iPod supports many formats, but does not support WMA, Ogg, or FLAC. I purchase my music on CDs from stores online.

At home I have a stereo where I do most of my listening, I listen to CDs and LPs on it.

I listen to copies of CDs in my car. My portable players include a three an a half year old iRiver iHP-120 which accepts a handful of formats, I think with the Rockbox it'll play OGG and others but I primarily just use MP3. I also have a 4gb iRiver Clix that I also use MP3s on. I don't buy music online, I find it a ripoff for what you get so I just buy albums that I like, primarily.

What do you use to listen to your music?
At home I use a vintage Yamaha CR2040 through Infinity Alpha 50's with a 12" Infinity sub. I use a Sony CD player to play CD's mostly.
Do you have a portable music player?
I do not own a portable music player because I do not like the compressed MP3 format sound quality.
If so, what is it, what music format does it accept, and where do you purchase your music?

Mostly my car radio. I listen to some FM on my HT but listen mostly to music DVD's. I have an MP3 player, that I mostly use when I work in the yard. I copied my own CD's from some Windows soft ware. I purchase CD's and DVD's from Walmart, internet and sometimes Hastings.

I only really listen to music on my 2.0 system. I have never been interested in ripping my music (to this point).

1) I have three systems I use, my main home theater through my reciever (most music through iTunes and Airport Express via AirTunes). Decent 2.0 setup straight from my computer (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card) to my DJ mixer and AudioSource amp. Thirdly my iPod with Technics RP-DJ1200 I listen to at work.

2) Yes

3) It is a 30G video iPod (I also have the original Creative Nomad Jukebox but I don't use it now that I have an iPod). It accepts mp3, aac, whatever else the iPod does. I purchase most of my music online; Amazon for CDs and www.beatport.com for 320 kbps mp3s.
