What are your guys' take on emotiva receivers/ amps
My impression of Emotiva:What are your guys' take on emotiva receivers/ amps
I was so impressed with the Emotiva amp, that I even recommended to myself to get a second MPS-2 amp (used, but like-new condition, local buy).I'm using an IPS-1 and so far I have no complaints. It's built like a tank, looks very nice, and the fit and finish are excellent, I highly reccomend Emotiva products.
It's really a waste of money, but since it was a used amp, it's okay.I saw that... now you can live in bi-amping bliss.
Oh, that's just dangerous in this hobbyI even recommended to myself

The only bad part was that I did not get to insert those 7 power modules into the chassis.
I swear it, man. If only Emotiva made preamps that had specs to match or even surpass my Acurus (crosstalk -95dB, 20Hz-20kHz +/-0.1dB, THD+N < 0.004%, SNR > 95dB-A), I would get all Emotiva preamps.
But overall, I do like Emotiva a lot!
If my Acurus ever die, I would probably get the Emotiva preamps anyway.
You're probably right. They probably won't sound any differently. But it would just make me feel better if Emotiva would just improve those numbers.I would bet that if you replaced your Acuras Preamps with Emotiva Preamps, you wouldn't be able to hear a difference. I just don't see how a small difference in crosstalk, THD, and SNR would make an audible difference. I say if what you have now works fine keep it, otherwise upgrade!
... after all, I could say my system is better than yours since I have 7.1 and you only have 5.1...

Now tell me, is that too much to ask from Emotiva?
Like say, "Could you guys do whatever it takes to decrease that crosstalk from -70dB down to -100dB, decrease THD from 0.1% to 0.004%, decrease the linear deviation from +/-0.5dB down to +/-0.1dB, increase SNR to > 100dB A, decrease output impedance to 10 ohms?
Do you think I would piss off Lonnie and Dann if I asked them that?
BTW, your Yamaha receiver has crosstalk of about -87dB, THD+N 0.008%, and freq resp of 20Hz-20kHz +/-0.3dB, which are excellent and better than the Emotiva RSP.
If I got the Emotiva RSP preamps, you and Greg would say that your Yamahas have better specs!
Now how am I suppose to live with that?![]()
