Hey Nuance,

I searched for MMC-1 information and found your thread... Can you post a review of your impressions of the Emotiva equipment once you've got them set up? I'd love to hear about it... I'm coming back into the market after sitting on my Sony ES set-up driving Magnepan SMG's... I'm desperate to get myself up and running in the digital HD age, but still want to maintain a certain level of sound quality. I'll probably keep the Maggies as they aren't worth selling (old, and peculiar so the used value is low). But the wife has given the full thumbs up to get surround sound going with an HD TV!!!

Emotiva (and considering Outlaw systems too) seem to have things dialed in right feature+performance-cost=value!

Thanks,

Sengert
What do you think about TrueHD and DTS-MA?

The reason I ask is because the MMC-1 cannot decode TrueHD & DTS-MA.

Many people liked them. The Audioholics reviews are pretty good.
You are a lucky man!!!

I have a few more things to take of first but an Emotiva is definately on my list of things to do!!

"Un-married and still in control of his finances man" is what I am!

Just be sure to buy ALL your fun stuff before she moves in! HT, fun car etc...

'Cuz after, its over! Lol!

The XPA-5 sounds great by the way. Not to hard to out do a 50W amp tho...

Where there's a will, there's a way!:D

I've been married for 8 years, and it has not stop me!:D

And my wife doesn't even like home theater systems. In fact, she hates BASS. She hates speakers. You just got to marry someone who is understanding.

I just think Emotiva is absolutely amazing. They are a bunch of hardcore audiophile engineers with great passion and attitude. They are so down-to-earth, no-nonsense, extremely knowledgable, and they provide outstanding services.

The best build quality.
The best sound quality.
The best service.:D

The waiting hurts like hell, doesn't it?

I can't wait for April either. I can't wait to see what the new RSP-2 is going to be like.

I wonder how many years we lose on our lives by worrying and waiting about audio gear... Acudeftechguy is pulling his hair out waiting for the BD50 to come out se he can have DTS-HD MA and I feel the same way waiting for Sony to add DTS-HD MA decoding to the PS3.

That's true. Everyday I come to work, I would first check to see if there are news regarding the BD50. I swear it, man. I will be the first guy at Best Buy when that BD50 comes out!!!

I am literally pulling my hair out!

And I'm already sending Emotiva emails and writing on the Emo forums :D to push for a Purist Discrete Stereo Preamp (no Tone, Balance, Tape loops, Head Phones, etc.) so that I can replace my Acurus when the time comes. My RL11s are already like 12 years old. How much longer will they last, right?

Gotta plan ahead.:D

Hey, just which side are you on anyway?:D
I'm on yours :D

The "wife" comments here and there make me laugh sometimes because it's the other way around here...I'm the one always researching and wanting to upgrade. But he just likes to bust on me, he doesn't really mind, which is why I don't often go into the stores....it's too dangerous.
I just wish he would remember how to use it :p...... I think I might look into one of those Harmony remotes.

Lol!

I guess it's a good thing you didn't marry an Audioholic then! You'd have a killer HT that's always in need of recalibrating from the latest component! Aha!

I'm a bit of a race track junky and, from dating a female race car driver, too much of one thing isn't very good... We had 6 cars, including a race spec Miata and two 350Z... All our time was spent around cars or at the track...

I'm better off with my current g/f. She appreciates the HT. I WILL be getting the Harmony remote soon tho! When I told her "I don't mind if the HT is ON all day and night. Just make sure the plasma is OFF".

Of course, 10 minutes later the only thing ON was the TV... Aha! I love that girl! :D

That will do it.

Plus, I am uncerain if the EMO's have different zones. Does anyone know?
It's been a while since I was on Emotiva's forum.
Apparently the LCM-2 will have a 2nd zone.
More importantly it will also come will a room correction utility and adjustable EQ.

Side note, Crow doesn't taste much like chicken.;)

The bad news; it sounds like the release date has been pushed back to May or June.

its been a while since i reported back. but i finally have my new MMC-1 and LPA-1 and i gotta say...... holy $h!t !:D I never knew movies sounded that good. I can't believe the clarity in all the channels. I actually have bass coming from my rear mids now. ( all that worked before were the tweeters and not very good at that)

I do have one question though.... I have a digital coax coming from my PC to stream music. When i had my old reciever hooked up i just had y splitter so i could also run a digital coax to my reciver upstairs also and it worked flawlessly. Now when i try to hook up the coax going upstairs I get a very loud buzzing through my main speakers. I hope this makes sense to you guys. what could cause this?

Thanks

I sure love my Emo gear. I am amazed every time I turn it on. Always have had a great time on the phone with them too.

I too am very pleased with my Emotiva amp, especially now that I have my new def tech towers, all those speakers in each tower need some juice, and the emo has plenty on tap.

S&V/Tom Nousaine:
BP7001SC minimal/nominal impedance = 3.3/5 ohms
CLR3000 minimal/nominal impedance = 2.4/6 ohms

So I think theoretically, your amp should be able to handle as low as 2.4 ohms!

I'm glad these Emotiva amps can handle 2 ohms!

Me too... and I love to turn my movies up loud, so it's always good to know I can count on my gear to perform without worrying about damaging anything.
