Does Bezos have some ties with Rivian?
Not that I know of, but could be? Amazon was the first to sign a deal with them for delivery vans though. But Fedex, UPS and others have since signed as well.

I did some consulting for Rivian back when they were a start up, before they were even called that. Their prototype was an Ariel Atom with their electric motor, but they showed me the van too; this was ~10 years before it was released. One of their GIS people was let go and she left the server with their data locked and it was not being backed up. They could work still, but their data was sort of in limbo and at risk. I worked with the vendor and got them up and running.

Thx, I gotta check the Huyndai :)
The Ioniq 5N looks cool (610hp ) .... pretty pricey
640HP in 10 second bursts on launch :)

Pricey, but I would say a bargain for what it is capable of. Most EVs are quick, and this one certainly is, but few also handle the twisties well. Two Pike's Peak records last year means it can do it all. Not exactly what I would call a daily driver though lol.

Haha yes ... and over here, using mobile phone while driving, Police is checking like crazy
If you are caught using mobile when driving there is a $1000 fine and 3 points on the license, 8 points over 3 years .... and you lose the license...

In my state FL, Yes, Florida has a law that prohibits driving while using a cell phone or other wireless device. The law Florida Statute 316.305 went into effect on July 1, 2019.

And the fine is a huge $60.00 , laughable.

Yikes. $140 here, for first offense. Maybe it would be better if it were higher.

The driver should have told the police officer to pass it on in his department, so they don't pull over every Tesla.

I was in dialogue with the local Tesla dealership about the new Model Y and was asked if I was interested in the 2025 model. I replied that Tesla is now 100% off the radar after Musk´s stunts ......

I am probably not hearing from that side anymore :D

I also today heard something about an immediate drop, 40% for Tesla across the EU
In Germany you would get arrested doing what Musk did

I came across this app by accident and played around a bit, route planner that seem to have all EVs on the market, tons of settings and insanely easy to use. Some of the settings require a premium plan though, but the basic things are for free. There is also a navigator and it can connect to the car for better predictions.

Maybe even a useful too for selecting the right car.... some of the cars I was considering require two charges according to the app, even though the manufacturer specs say otherwise. I just wonder how acciurate this app is.

Tesla stock drops but it it due to Musk's role in Washington, or just better options from EV competitors. ABC noted it this way ""Elon Musk is to the Tesla brand what the Green Giant is to corn," "He has made himself the brand and that is always very risky."

Re ABRP app... I did a test with BMW i5 m60 and analysing a route going from Trondheim to Bergen in Norway and the ABRP app seems to somewhat underestimate the range of that specific car, but still, better having more to go on than if the app is over-optimistic. The owner gets a 423 trip with a short 15 minute pitstop charging to 80%. (The app say it may be somewhat shorter than 423 miles, it may be slightly different route))

That trip is possible with one charging while the app say 2 is required but .... it could anyways be better to be on the safe side.... BMW specs also claim around 278 miles range for that BMW i5 m60 touring.

I like this app, but I don´t have EV yet :D

Audun Wickstrand Iversen; One of the chief investors in DNB Markets in Norway, doing investment bank clearly believe Tesla to be a major winner this year. he knows what he is doing as most of his investments have given up to 70% gain the last few years.

He claims these things we see now.... will just disappear and he is probably buying tons of Tesla stocks now as they are dropping. his bet is that Tesla will double in 2025. in three quarters, no-one will care about the Musk "stunts" anymore, he claims.

He believes Tesla will be $750 in one year, now being at $355.84

Iversen believes that at least one or two major car producers in Europe will come crawling to Musk, really soon, and request an opportunity to "license" Tesla

Also pointing to Toyota and Volkswagen...... it´s do or die for them now

for sure. Sad but true.

, also some info

The four states with the highest percentage of people 65 and older in 2022 were Maine (23%), Florida (22%), Vermont (22%) and West Virginia (21%). In three states, the 65 and older population increased by more than 50% between 2012 and 2022: Alaska (63%), Idaho (55%), and Delaware (51%).

The 2022 median income of older people was $29,740 ($37,430 for men and $24,630 for women).
