Does Bezos have some ties with Rivian?
Not that I know of, but could be? Amazon was the first to sign a deal with them for delivery vans though. But Fedex, UPS and others have since signed as well.

I did some consulting for Rivian back when they were a start up, before they were even called that. Their prototype was an Ariel Atom with their electric motor, but they showed me the van too; this was ~10 years before it was released. One of their GIS people was let go and she left the server with their data locked and it was not being backed up. They could work still, but their data was sort of in limbo and at risk. I worked with the vendor and got them up and running.

Thx, I gotta check the Huyndai :)
The Ioniq 5N looks cool (610hp ) .... pretty pricey
640HP in 10 second bursts on launch :)

Pricey, but I would say a bargain for what it is capable of. Most EVs are quick, and this one certainly is, but few also handle the twisties well. Two Pike's Peak records last year means it can do it all. Not exactly what I would call a daily driver though lol.

in more ways than one ; Shame that can't add, mental stability

Unpaid traffic tickets

Child support delinquency

Driving under the influence

Accumulating points on your license

Driving without insurance

Habitual traffic offender status

DUI conviction

Driving while license suspended or revoked

Drug possession

Not meeting the minimum vision standards

Reckless driving

Haha yes ... and over here, using mobile phone while driving, Police is checking like crazy
If you are caught using mobile when driving there is a $1000 fine and 3 points on the license, 8 points over 3 years .... and you lose the license...

In my state FL, Yes, Florida has a law that prohibits driving while using a cell phone or other wireless device. The law Florida Statute 316.305 went into effect on July 1, 2019.

And the fine is a huge $60.00 , laughable.

Yikes. $140 here, for first offense. Maybe it would be better if it were higher.

The driver should have told the police officer to pass it on in his department, so they don't pull over every Tesla.
