...made in china cabinets (Revel can justify it because... it's not over the internet so who knows any better buying from a shop sans research???)...
Not China.

I actually know this one. I called Revel and asked them.

The Revel Ultima line used to be made in the USA in California. However, they have now moved the production south of the border to Mexico. :D

Hmmm, San Diego is practically Mexico.:D

Here is what I am thinking for Front Towers - Big/Bold and with A Statement!!

Volume of box = ~5 cu. ft.

Woofs = One or Two 8" or 10" Woofs

Mids = Dual 6.5" in a MTM config. at top of encl.

Tweet = Pure Beryllium or RAAL, between the Mids...

either ML-TL or bass reflex...

w/ 4th order LR Xovers at around 650 and 3Khz.

Some box that can handle Power and not Fold up on itself.

Tall box maybe 45-48 in. tall, and about 12" wide...

What MFG/MODEL is this?? HELP ??

and About $3K per Pair.

PLEASE CHIME IN...
For dream speakers, I think this list needs to be modified to just 3 requirements:

1) Sound great
2) Measure great
3) Look great.

I see it this way

1) Sound great
2) Look great
3) Measure great
4) Wifey factor satisfied ( of course this could be #1 in some households), if not omit item.
5) Money still left in the bank = great

DenPureSound reminded me about the NHT Classic Four:

" The Four's listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.75/–2.67 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 42 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 35 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.24 ohms at 145 Hz and a phase angle of –69.50 degrees at 61 Hz."

Can always try & return if don't like::D

Here are a pair of Dream Speakers:

but costs a relatively affordable $3495/pair. That's more my speed. :D

and I wonder what GRANT does not like about them, heck their Frenchies. :D

and Stereophile measured them... do you believe in Stereophile measurements? After my Aperion VGT POY award experience, I now question AH reviews/measurements big time. Honestly, I personally believe more in Home Theater Review, as their writeup was even more accurate.

I would worry about those speakers. The impedance is very low between 50 and 150 Hz where there are a lot of power demands. The impedance is 2.9 ohms, but the phase angle is -51 degrees, so the amplifier will actually see an impedance of around 1.75 ohms in this region. So you will need big bucks for an amp.

Further I would be very interested to know the DC resistance of those speakers, and would have a high suspicion it is higher than the impedance. If it is, this is a sure sign of resonance and ringing in the crossover. This is a common problem in passive three ways where the crossover between woofer and mid is too low. I think 300 Hz is too low.

I would be very wary of that speaker. For that money you can buy an ATC three way and be confident of it.

I kind of like the look of this. Interesting.

Coherent Pulse 7.1 by Source Loudspeaker Technology. American made.

Just finished reading over the Stereophile review, and your exactly right on, that current hungry combination of 3.83 Ω and -53 degrees phase at 94Hz., is very bothersome to me, and most likely my EMO XPA-5 would not be enough to push it at higher SPL levels down low, which might force me to buy another more expensive amp - of which I am saving for my Dream Speakers not another amp. It also drops down to 2.6Ω at 119Hz, but the phase is closer to zero there. Not totally in love with the FR Plot, even on-axis, but I don't like when I see a -4/-5dB drop in the higher-mid freqs.

Oh well, the quest continues. :)

How much per Pair = ?

Are there any FR Plots On/Off Axis, THD+N, and Imp/Phase plots available on it?

Have not ever heard of that company.

Your going to have trouble finding meaningful measurements of Source Speakers. They just don't market to that type of crowd is my guess. I've heard those Coherent Pulses at Rickster71's house and have heard a variety of other Source Speakers at Walter's house. They all sounded great and given the variety there is something suitable for many different applications.

My thing with measurements lately is that they are taken at a fixed SPL. Well, I usually listen @ ~72db and Walter likes ~102db. I'm almost certain that what ever graph you look at isn't plotted at either level and the plots would be different at all three levels.

I'm not sure if I would trade 360's for Coherent Pulses sound wise ... I might but as far as looks go? there is no question. The beefier Source Speaker offerings can really put out some sound and it's good sound. Walter has their center with 3 tweeters and as much of a pain as that can be to design, it sounds fantastic. Still, no measurements. I guess they do okay without them. Funny how that works. :)

These would'nt work for you or me. Seems to me that you like speakers with high sbl capability like I do. I've been wanting to buy these for years, they look so good especially with the black base. John from Source would'nt even sell them to me because he knows they are not Walter proof. He knows my demands of a speaker, if they can't peel the paint off the sheet rock they don't qualify. They are very accurate. IMO they be good for serious two channel listening or rear surrounds. We all have our preference in speakers that's what makes this hobby so much fun. It's only (1) 7" driver.
