For many reasons I prefer separates. The first my music / ht listening ratio is high and I like tube equipment for my music. Second is AV processer technology is changing about 100x faster than amp technology. My separate amp is probably going to lastt me through a couple of processors. Third.. IMHO you can get higher quality separates than combined

no, if your purpose was for bragging rights.
but if your purpose was "better" sound ... yes :)

Not for bragging, I didn't want to tell anyone what I paid for them, but last night I read the article on cables and this morning I feel very stupid.

Oh well, we must press on! At the very least if anyone ever looks behind my stereo or TV, they will be impressed.

Must return cables. Wasted money. YES!

Can't return, custom made.

I promise not to buy anything else before coming to the forum for advice.

But at least tell me that the Monster RCA cables I bought for my cd player are better than the radio shack cables I was using from the 80's.

if your radioshack cables were crappy, thin gauge wires ... they're way better :)

Ah thats what I wanted to hear, the cables I had were as thick as spaghetti. Now it all seems worth it.
