More news from International CES:

The Diva II SP (SRP: $4,495) features a machined aluminum platter with vibration absorbing properties that work symbiotically with the chassis. Combined with the turntable’s exclusive low-density self-lubricating bearing system, twin-belt drive and other refinements, unwanted vibrations are all but eliminated. The Diva II SP’s Digital Signal speed control provides precision speed regulation.

The Sequel II SP (SRP: $9,995) takes AVID engineering excellence to an even higher level with a completely purpose-designed suspension system bearing and platter. Its upgraded power supply and motor are drawn from the statement Acutus Reference SP, and its twin-belt drive, single-point bearing, rigid chassis, Digital Signal speed control and other upgrades yield extraordinary musical realism.

Panasonic 4K Blu-ray Player

Panasonic is claiming to have the world's first native 4k Blu-ray player that will hit the market this year but this image from CES looks like nothing more than a mockup. Where is the disc drawer? Vaporware at least at CES.

Samsung 85" Bendable HDTV?
85-inch-Bendable-UHD-TV.jpg

Utilizing servos behind Samsung's new 85" HDTV, it can go from flat to curved on command. They claim curving the TV helps create a more "immersive" effect but we suspect the bending aspect has more of a "look at what our TV can do that yours can't" bragging rights purpose than one of necessity. I mean, I have a 110" screen on my front projection system and have no issues being immersed without it bending.

It will likely cost more than a new Acura NSX and in all honestly, which would you rather have?

MartinLogan Having a blast demoing their new Neolith at International CES in Las Vegas! Stop by for a listen at The Venetian, Suite 30-118.

Neolith features one of MartinLogan's largest electrostatic radiating surfaces, fully 35% larger than the Statement E2. Its proprietary curvilinear electrostatic transducer delivers an ideal wave launch; a detailed, ultrarealistic soundstage, reproducing nearly the entire mid-range and high frequency audio spectrum. It is utterly uninhibited by room limitations.

Smoothly blended low-frequencies are provided by a 15-inch rear-firing ported woofer and 12-inch front-firing sealed mid-bass woofer. Combined, they deliver powerful, extremely accurate bass.

AVEGANT GlYPH Virtual Reality Head Set

A virtual retinal display, projecting images directly on your eyes; it's a technology that's been around since the '80s, but it's rarely found in consumer headsets. And instead of goggles, they look like headphones. In fact, they are headphones — they just tip forward onto your eyes if you want to use them as a headset.

Pre-orders, will be selling the Glyph for $499 through January 15th and $599 thereafter.
