I driven both 1963 and 1964 Corvette's with 4 speeds, one a 427cubic inch and the other a 327 and I have to admit I much enjoyed driving the 327 over the 427. It handled so much better I think because the 327 wasn’t so nose heavy. Similar to the 1956 and 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawks where the ’56 had the powerful but heavy Packard V-8 and the ‘57 supercharged Stude V-8 which was much lighter on the front end!
