'Stinger' hood (one year only)..'427' There were four iterations of the 427 in '67, mine is a warmed over L36, the mighty L88 was king of the hill

I always loved the stinger hood. So cool.
My ‘69 has a factory cowl induction hood. I didn’t want to replace all the solenoids and flappers and wiring and such. But I did build an air pan that seals to the hood. It’s basically full time cowl induction. I did some experiments by tying a string to the back of the hood. By gum it actually works.

Oh for sure, thus the reason NASCAR has used cowl induction for decades, it is effectively the low pressure area outside of the car. It's what I utilized years ago on my drag car.........

Nice! I’ll see if I have a decent picture…

This was with the 750 EDL. Switched to a 670 Holley for drivability. Definitely lost a bit on top, but overall better. As you can see, the pan is sitting on top just for the pic. It’s much lower during installation.

Bow tie til I die! Lol

I’d have to look in my papers, but I think it’s a be cool. Has a 160° stat in it, and most of the time it runs at that or even less in the fall and spring.

I driven both 1963 and 1964 Corvette's with 4 speeds, one a 427cubic inch and the other a 327 and I have to admit I much enjoyed driving the 327 over the 427. It handled so much better I think because the 327 wasn’t so nose heavy. Similar to the 1956 and 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawks where the ’56 had the powerful but heavy Packard V-8 and the ‘57 supercharged Stude V-8 which was much lighter on the front end!

You know, I had a 1974 Avanti ll with a Chevy 350 that pumped out 365 hp and dang that was a beautiful driving car. Had it for 17 years and still miss it!
I bet you do! My 69 is the first car I ever owned. Purchased in 1994. Over the years I’ve thought about selling it for an “upgrade” or whatever. But then my family and friends remind me how dumb that would be. lol. Now I have to figure out what kid to leave it to when I die! lol

True, I believe the motor was from 1967.
keep in mind with respect to handling, when the 427 was put in the earlier C2 if springs and sway bars(small blocks had no rear bars) were not changed out that would have made things worse as well
