Audyessy app unable to detect 2nd sub??

I noticed a similar problem. I ended up simply using a splitter on the main sub out jack. Works just fine.

Unfortunately this would negate his avr's ability to set level/delay separately for the two sub pre-outs.....but if not needed a good workaround....

He can simply set the level for each sub at the sub itself. As far as I know, there are no separate sub signals sent to both left and right channels.

I have no idea of what you mean by "delay". Virtually the same sub signal goes out the left and right sub out. Sub signals have never gone out in stereo as far as I know. It works just fine with a splitter.

The difference is that with a splitter you’d have to set the phase(distance) of one of the subs manually. Xt32 w/subeqHT measures both subs and sets the level and distance independently, but then EQ’s both globally.

Can't say it's been a problem. As far as I'm concerned, problem solved with the splitter. LFE tracks are generally nondirectional, so I don't see (or hear) that it makes any difference.

Perhaps we are talking past each other? The OP Denon X3500H has XT32 and for Denon that means the two subwoofer out are independent. So the level and distance can be different for both. Even the FR response could be different but Audyssey EQ the subs together.

Yes, William beat me to it. Delay is same as distance in the avr. The 2 sub outs are mono, there's no L/R thing going on. Some avrs can set delay and level separately, like the OPs (and mine)

That depends on your placement of subwoofers as well as room.

Practically speaking it probably wouldn’t make any difference. Imo the thing that would be a factor is the phase/distance settings for each sub.
In the past when using splitters for setting up subs, even with Audyssey one of them usually needs a phase adjustment to be more time aligned just due to different placements in the room.

The importance of separate outputs isn’t for content, it’s for setup.

As to the original post, I suspect that it was the previous info stored on the tablet from when he had only one sub. Deleting those graphs forced the app to rescan the system.

That’s possible. You can have multiple profiles though so...maybe?

I've dealt with a few buggy issues using the app. Most recently it couldn't find my avr. I ran through a few of the usual troubleshooting steps and what seemed to work was power cycling my router... who'da thunk?

Oh! Also... there were times I had no sound with the Reference setting! None. Every other setting worked but Reference. I fought and fought with it and it *seems* like it happens when I go into "Speaker Detection Results" and/or "Audyssey Settings" and change something before sending it to my receiver. It's almost always the reference setting, but it did happen one time with the flat setting.

Now that was a weird one and I was at a loss.
