Arendal 1723 2V or SVS SB17?

The last thing I need to complete my dedicated HT room is subwoofers. The room is 17' long by 14' wide with a 10' ceiling. Because it's not a particularly large room, my subwoofer choices have been limited by the massive size of some subwoofers I might otherwise consider. That said, I'm pretty sure I've narrowed my choices to being between a pair of Arendal 1723 2Vs (ported) or SVS SB17 Ultras (sealed). As I see it, the depth of many subwoofers is simply too much. As an example, I would consider the SVS PB17, but it's over 29" deep - meaning it would protrude into the room 30", which is over 15% or the room's length. I imagine it would look too large for the room.

On the other hand, the subwoofers I'm considering have depths of only 23.6" for the Arendal and 21.2" for the SVS, so I thnk either would not look unduly massive in the room. I'm torn, the pair of vented 1723 2Vs might offer a bit more SPL below 25Hz, but the SB17s probably aren't far behind in that category and come in an even more compact dimension. Help! Which is the better choice for me?

If you have room for ported, then always ported over sealed.

I hear you over the footprint issue, but the physics of sound reproduction demand it.

I think when it comes down to it, if at all possible this technology requires a dedicated room. Getting good results in most homes I think is now next to impossible. That is why you now see a soundbar in every home you enter pretty much.

The 1723 2V will have more deep end output by virtue of being ported. Either sub will be good, but I would go for the ported sub if you are interested in deep bass.
