Whoa--It looks like I'll be spending my entire January filling orders for these things. Let's see--it takes 6 hours of hard labor to produce a pair, and I have orders for about 40 pairs, so that's 240 hours--looks like I'm into February, assuming Parts Express can keep supplying me with stock speakers and parts. I would hire on help, except that I could only afford to pay about 1/3 of the minimum wage. I wonder whether Golden Retrievers can be trained to solder and read schematics..........

I take it you've already looked at outsourcing to a cabinet builder and a solder monkey. Hopefully you can do some things in parallel to save some time.

and then needed crossover parts -

The question is, what does he do with them extra Pioneer tweeters?

I would totally buy a kit. Heck, I'd buy the plans and then buy the tweeter and assemble the crossover myself.

I have the SP-C22 already and am waiting on the SP-BS22 to go on sale for $80-$90. I'm considering returning the C22 and buying the whole kit from Dennis, but I probably won't.

I would definitely buy a kit though.

I didn't do that because it would involve more work and risk than a lot of people would want to take on. I also underestimated the demand, which is not usually the case for me. I'll think about a kit, however. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get that together.

HI. I've done a mod on the 52's, and sent a pair to Frank Van Alstine, who posted a review on his Audio Circe site. IMHO, the 52's are in greater need of attention than the 22's. For the time being, however, I'm buried in 22 mod orders and can't take any orders for the 52's.

First Ed Frias BIC modded speakers now Dennis Murphy and the Pio's. A lot of people with limited funds owe Dennis a thank you. I don't believe the Frias edition of the BIC's are available any longer. Good to see the mantle taken up.

I think he said the changes were a bit more involved than some of the others, so he opted to build these himself. Plus they are currently readily available speakers.
