Thanks Rick,i think what makes my kids realize how good they have it is one of my son's close friends, his dad is a couch potato that only works a few weeks out of the year & his mother spends all her time & money at the casinos, leaving him with us to raise about 5 days a week,he's a good kid so we dont mind but his parents are pure s#!t.You and your wife deserve a lot of credit for raising such a good son.
To have a child at that age, understand and appreciate all the hard work you've done, is very rare.
Congratulations to you and Mrs. Highfi.
Rick
Wow. That's pretty damn cool. I'm a guy that doesn't like kids or plan on ever having any, and that still touched me. Good job raising your kid.
Thanks, the letter made my wife want to have another kidThat is one awesome letter HH. Being raised with no dad around me, makes me jealous...nahh..j/k. I am happy with my mom. He is one lucky boy and you are one kick a!# dad. Nevertheless, it makes me wanting to be a father (I got no kids yet)..You are the pride of the fathers here HH.
Hmmm,i never know how to answer that question,we have 3 son's but it's not as simple as that,we lost one of our son's a few years back, after his death we both couldnt figure out what to say when we were asked how many kid's we have,if we said 2 we felt like we were forgetting about him, if we said 3 most people asked where the 3rd son was, then we had to explain what happened, explaining, talking & dwelling on his death nearly killed my wife & destroyed her teaching career. Now we say we have 3 children & if asked where the 3rd is we just say he's not living at home anymore.how many kids you have HH? I'm thinking I don't want a second.
thanks for sharing that...Hmmm,i never know how to answer that question,we have 3 son's but it's not as simple as that,we lost one of our son's a few years back, after his death we both couldnt figure out what to say when we were asked how many kid's we have,if we said 2 we felt like we were forgetting about him, if we said 3 most people asked where the 3rd son was, then we had to explain what happened, explaining, talking & dwelling on his death nearly killed my wife & destroyed her teaching career. Now we say we have 3 children & if asked where the 3rd is we just say he's not living at home anymore.
Dont be so sure that you only want one child just yet, things change as time goes on,the older they get the more fun it is being a parent,we planned our 1st child & thought that would be it,then a few years later we decided on having another, then 18 months after the 2nd kid was born we jumped in with both feet & had the 3rd.
Hi mike,i forgot about this threadthanks for sharing that...
I realize that it's normal for new parents to NOT want a follow up kid ... but tell me about the WHEN you want a second kid, what do you feel? why do you want a second kid?
right now the wife's thinking that our son would be lonely without a sibling.
