Death in the Family

Sorry about that title. I am a single guy so my 2 dogs are my kids. Well one got sick and died this week. It happened very fast. His name was Bailey. I had him since he was a puppy. He was almost 12 and for 10 years, he's had Addison's disease. I gave him his shot of percorten every 30 days in the scruff of his neck. He took it like a man because he knew a treat came next. He'd always come running back when I put his collar back on. I found that amusing how much he loved his collar. Very sweet dog. He followed me everywhere. If I am doing the dishes, he is sitting there on the rug in the kitchen. It's a new reality around here.

They asked me if I wanted a print or a cast. I said a cast, please make two (one for the gal who is the actual reason I had both of my dogs). They said "sure". So they made the prints too. Nice. They weren't baked yet because she said they don't have an oven. I had to be careful as I came up to get them on my motorcycle. Then carefully baked them on a glass pie pan. Dobie is kicking back in the photo. He is understandably pretty melancholy for the past few days. The plaque thing was delivered by Amazon yesterday anonymously.
