Yup, if you have the licence you can pretty much own type of firearm. You will get frequent checks from ATF, along with a laundry list of requirements but you can own that Gatling gun.

Read along the lines a group was trying to get MG's on the basis of constitutional rights maybe. The oppositions strategy to prevent this was to delay by not responding or something or other. Wish I could remember where I found that. Something like if they responded that would trigger a case I'm not exactly sure. I also believe regarding FRT's Clarence Thomas made them legal based on the original language of the Constitution or something like that.
