Yes but you don't want to EVER leave the grilles on these babies :) Find a way to fit them. You can place them within 2" from a backwall, in fact, it's encouraged to keep them close to a backwall to reinforce the bass. They were designed with that in my mind.

With poor implementation, it's possible the benefits of this tweeter won't be realized. With proper execution, you can really make magic with this baby, but at $500/ea it doesn't come cheap.

I am interested in checking out those Crown amps after I catch up with my other reviews. Be careful with SNR measurements as you really need to compare apples to apples (ie. how it was measured, at what power level, etc). I scale SNR back to 1 watt to make a fair comparison.
