IMO, either of the two systems you are considering are a significant upgrade from your Cube speakers. From our experience Axiom offer very high value and many forum members here are happy owners on them. You may also wish to check out our 5.1 Speaker Shootout for other options.

If you already have a receiver with DTS 96/24, you should be good to go. I have a few discs in 96/24 and they sound awesome! This really is a good sign. DTS is kicking BUTT and taking names :)
