Agreed. Religious types are entirely wecome to believe as they wish, but I do not accept those beliefs being imposed on others, especially by being turned into law. It is bad enough when religion-based laws violate individual rights (as is the case with laws banning abortion or gay marriage)...

I agree I couldn't care less about high definition for most movies, only those where the visuals are especially important (eg The Fifth Element, Harry Potter.)

Strange. I have always found Philips TVs to be extremely reliable. They are all that I or anyone in my family have bought for as long as I can remember. A friend of mine is still watching a 27" Philips that I gave him 12 years ago, after I had already used it for 10 years!

I also enjoyed the first one, but agree that there is plenty of room for improvement. Some of the TV episodes were great, so the potential is certainly there.

I can't abide subtitles, period. If they won't go to the trouble of releasing an English-dubbed version, I won't go to the trouble of watching it.

If I buy a BD player and then find a movie I really want on HD only (or vice-versa) it will royally **** me off. This prevents me from buying either one, and I am certain it is holding plenty of other people back also.

The title song from Extraordinary Machine is one of the most enjoyable things I have heard in years. If the whole CD was that good (alas, it is not even close) it would be a masterpiece.
