Non-matching electronics look terrible together. As for speakers, I did think that a company that makes both would strive to match their performance with those of their electronics, but maybe not.

I have been keeping the idea of a bigger screen in mind while watching my current set and, after viewing some 42"ers in the store, have concluded that I can live without it for now. I am sure the urge will strike again later, though.:)

Much, much less powerful, in fact. I am currently driving 89dB, 4 Ohm min. speakers with a 20 watt/ch amp and it is more than enough in my 10' X 20' room (open to 20' sq.) The need for power is severely overstated in today's audio world.

Exactly. Ads totally suck. That is why I have given up watching TV entirely. (I watch my favorite TV shows on DVD instead, so that I can see them commercial-free.)

The Mad Magazine parody The Republicans Visit Sesame Street is priceless. The republicans are there to investigate "the crime of teaching our kids to read and spell". At one point, they accuse Bert and Ernie of being gay! Hilarious.:D

Yes. It is their two greatest-hits albums remastered. Surprising sound, given the vintage. (The DVD is live. I haven't watched it yet.)

I agree. The selection of Def Techs at UE is very limited, and some of their models (the Pro Monitors for example) I have not found to buy anywhere.

I reread the post you quoted, tried to find something "shallow" in it, and couldn't. Improving on the sound of my current system would be difficult. (Also, I don't know if I can ever be satisfied with conventional speakers again now that I have been spoiled by Omnipolars.)

I voted for Pinnacle because all of the others are readily available elsewhere. (Also, I would never vote for Klipsch because I hate their sound.)

The only times I have ever seen Super Bowl commercials were when they were repeated elsewhere (on an awards show, for example.)
