    listener fatigue

Every pair of speakers requires experimenting with placement/toe-in. The room and electronics remained constant between the Klipsch and other speakers that I liked better. (The electronics have changed since then, but I am not inclined to try Klipsch again, especially as I am 100% satisfied with...

    listener fatigue

Irrelevant. It is my ears that I trust, not graphs. Buying the Klipsch reference bookshelves was a mistake, they sounded good for a while, then the fatigue set in and they became unlistenable.

It is the Reference series that I have heard, and that are painfully bright.

Definitive Technology Speakers - ARE THEY THAT GOOD?

That sort of attitude is all too common in the audio world. It is purely coincidence that the people you happened to hear it from were Paradigm owners, as it could just as easily have been any brand.

    about Athena AS-B2.2

My Mirage Omnis developed a tweeter problem after only a couple of months of light use. They use exactly the same components as the LS series, so take care.

    Funniest Bose Quip !!!!

That would finish them off once and for all!:p

Definitive Technology Speakers - ARE THEY THAT GOOD?

I have to agree with the bashers that Def Tech publishes misleading specs (though they do not lie, they merely leave out information, which is very different giving false information.) This is unfortunate, as is is the one and only negative aspect of an otherwise outstanding product. If...

I agree. It is the treble that is a major issue. The midrange is fine.:p

    Funniest Bose Quip !!!!

I wan't really picking on him per se (though I do think that he simply repeats the commercial formula he developed years ago and never does anything new), I was primarily giving an example of using "...is the Bose of..." in a sentence.

How to move a big tube tv?

Me and another pretty strong guy managed to carry my 200lb tube through two dorrways and set it up in my room, but it was no picnic. I mashed my finger pretty good setting it down, too. I am not concerned about it getting stolen, though!:p

    Funniest Bose Quip !!!!

I think we should start a trend of using "...is the Bose of..." as an insult for other things.:D For example: "Thomas Kincade is the Bose of painting" (no real artistic merit, but women think they look pretty in the living room so he sells them by the truckload.)

Definitive Technology Speakers - ARE THEY THAT GOOD?

I have spent way too much $$$ making changes to my 2-channel system in the last few years (some have turned out to be improvements, others have not.) I don't want to get started down that path with my HT, especially as I am happy with it as is.

    Tried a new Beer

My days of trying new beer are over. I have permanently given it up (along with any other form of alcohol.) When I did drink, however, my all-time favorite was Chimay Ale (brewed and bottled in a Belgian monestary.)

    A Night At The Opera

Yes, that is it. I have never been outside the US, so I have only seen the Sydney one in pictures.

    A Night At The Opera

Although I don't listen to opera, I often admire opera houses for their architecture. The nicest one I have seen in person is in Santa Fe, NM.

    Which to use for fronts

Try it both ways, then decide which you prefer. You have already spent the money, so all it will cost you is a little time.

Definitive Technology Speakers - ARE THEY THAT GOOD?

I have been using Def Tech BP10Bs and 8Bs in my HT for around 8 years now, and I see no need to "upgrade", ever.

Once again: what are you listening to now?

I am not sure why, either.:p

    Horn vs. Dome

How can a full range driver produce good treble? I thought that tweeters had to be small in order to move fast enough.

    Two channel speakers for den

How did they come up with the name "Mini" for speakers 47" high and 18" wide? This is a bit like nicknaming the biggest guy on the football team "Tiny".:p
