There is no question that religion has some positive aspects. The question is whether or not these are sufficient to outweight the negative aspects. To me, they are not.

First, if you want me to get off the subject, you need to drop it yourself. I have said what I have to say until you bring up new points for me to rebut. Second, stop using the word "truth" in reference to religion or the bible. Finally, the primary thing that I dislike about religious types...

    L. Ron Hubbard/Lovecraft/Scientology

Getting back on topic, I have read that new recruits to Scientology have to be in a "nutrition" program. This program is so poorly designed that many people get sick from it (ironically, due to lack of nutrition.)

    Two channel speakers for den

It astonishes me to see any Mirage speaker described as directional. They are hardly perfect speakers, but lack of directionality is their primary asset. I wonder if you have a room issue that needs dealing with before any speakers will sound good.

Ther is nothing to know. It is an empty subject, with no actual content. (When I see someone avoiding the cracks in the sidewalk or throwing salt over his shoulder, there is really nothing else I need to know about it.)

    Ottmar Liebert - acoustical guitar

I have a couple of his CDs, and I agree that he is excellent. Since you like his style, you might also enjoy Johannes Linnestead.

You would be 100% correct if you were referring to any section of the forum other than this one. What you have obviously forgotten is that this is the steam vent.

Like Strat, you are blowing things way out of proportion. I have never respected any religion in my life (using the term "religion" in its broadest sense, so that it includes such things as astrology, tarot, UFOs, and superstitions like fearing the number 13), this has nothing to to with how...

    A new audio system

When I got my all-Cambridge Audio system, one of the first (of many) things that blew me away was how rich, detailed, and lifelike orchestral passages sounded. Based on this, I tried getting into classical, but so far I can't do it. Everything I have with acoustic instruments on it sounds...

    Horn vs. Dome

The only horn speakers I have heard are Klipsch, and I hate those. (Way too bright and harsh.)

    L. Ron Hubbard/Lovecraft/Scientology

It was about people believing in utter and complete bullsh*t. Baptists and Scientologists are both specific examples of that (among many others.):)

    Athena ls series

Oops, you are right. The 500s would raise the total to $500.

    Building $5k stereo around B&W 804s

Depending on room size, it could well be a lot less. Blue Jeans' most expensive speaker cable is only $1.05/ft, and their interconnects run about $20/pr. Spending more than that would gain you nothing at all. With the money saved, you could upgrade to the 803s.

I started my own thread, and now it is gone. They are giving me a clear message that butting in on your thread is the only option.:D

    Athena ls series

You can get those same speakers from Audio Advisor for a total of $400. At that price, it is a tough deal to beat.

    Mgmt Cd

Never heard of Mgmt. Could it be that they simply suck?:D

I was comparing them to Scientologists, so my comment was on topic.

You are beginning to inch slightly closer to getting the legitimate point I have been making all along. Maybe a little more thought, and you will get there. It was never christians in general that I referred to as "scary" (merely believing in BS like miracles and Jesus having "died for our sins"...

3D at home - Are we ready?

I have never been able to watch more than a few minutes of 3D without getting a headache. Perhaps the technology has improved? I am looking forward to hologram-based displays (viewable from all sides, no glasses.)
