You are not weird. My audio system is 2.0, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My HT is 4.0, and with the rear speakers off, the pseudo-surround generated by the receiver is fairly convincing.

I sincerely doubt that I would hear any difference (in 2-channel mode.) To my ears, well-mastered CDs leave little or no room for improvement. They may not be "perfect", but they are close enough that they might as well be.

A chaotic system is very finely tuned (we mathematicians refer to it as "sensitive dependence on initial conditions", which has become more popularly known as "the butterfly effect".) This is why a very small change (perhaps one degree in average temperature) can have such huge, widespread effects.

Global warming is not something that one can have a "stand" on (any more than, for example, gravity.) It is neither political nor a matter of belief, but simply a fact. The cause of it can be debated, but the fact itself cannot.

The Earth's weather is a very finely-tuned system. Call it global warming or something else, but it has unquestionably been knocked off balance. It will likely settle into a new stable state eventually, but it may get quite significantly worse before doing so.:(

I remember the cartoon from when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I also remember thinking it pretty much sucked. Must be an age thing (I first saw it quite close to the end of my cartoon-watching years.)

For the most part, I have been pretty pleased with remastered box sets (though I have read that the new Genesis set is hideous.) I particularly like my Talking Heads "brick". (I listen to the CD sides, not the DVD sides.)
