    Nordost Audio Cables.

I'd say Hyundai got their money's worth. I have exposed cable and I like it. My speaker cable is not only exposed but raised of the floor with ceramic standoffs. That Nordost cable is beautiful. Stuff like that deserves prominant exposure.

2 channel or multi-channel on the same budget?

Miklorsmith I totally agree with you. No matter what you do, a rig built to optimize 2 channel sound always sounds better than a MC based rig playing 2 channel. It's just nice that they do shine on MC sound. I also believe that buying separates allows for much greater flexibility and ease of...

    Multichannel vs Stereo

I like that idea of moving the rears around to the sides. Now if I can just figure out how to do that with my ES panels I'll give it a try.

    Teach me about Vinyl!

For anyone else who is interested in trying vinyl. Belt drive TT's sound better than direct drive. One thing that has been passed over is record care. The little silver discs don't require much in the way of maintanence. That is not the case with LP's. At minimum you need some form of washing...

    Neo:6 no subwoofer??? help

You may have a ground loop. Reverse the polarity of one AC plug. You may need to get a "cheater" 3 pin to 2 pin adaptor. Try reversing the polarity of the sub first.

    Speakers with Onkyo TX-SR601

The speakers that go best are the ones you think are best after listening to them. If you want the best speaker for your ears and money go out and listen to some. You should also listen to speakers that are too large and too expensive for your space and budget. That way you will be aware of how...

    Subwoofer TECHNICAL SPEC questions

One of the most important things in choosing a sub is the -3db point. A true sub will have a -3db point below 25hz. It will also be able to play a 30hz tone at +102db. There are not a lot of devices out there that fit these requirments. "Subs" with 8" woofers and the like need not apply...

    Anybody here into modding?

My power amps have been modded. The solid state amps have been worked (by me) according to the POOGE theme from the old Audio Amateur. The tube amps that drive my front ES panels are radically re-worked (by me) Dyna MK3's. Only the output tubes and the transformers are stock. My current subs are...

    Multichannel vs Stereo

True. The proof is that I've been trying to use it for years. From QS (SQ) to Hafler Dynaquad to DPL DD and DTS. I once had a Benchmark ambience recovery system for rear speakers. Before I could afford the Benchmark I built a bucket brigade type delay. I just wish popular music producers would...

    how to get best soundcard?

As far as it goes, sound blaster cards are what I recommend to people who pay me for that kind of advice. I use one myself. Every PC in my house except for laptops has a SB card. Yes, I do have one of my PC's tied into my rig both sound and video wise. SB cards are also reasonably priced.

    Multichannel vs Stereo

I suppose I wouldn't feel so negative about surround for music if the producers and engineers did not sit me in the middle of the band. I want to hear a reasonable reproduction of what I would hear at a club or concert. I do listen to classical music and most of that when recorded for surround...

    Hi all

Listen to anything and everything. You should also listen to speakers way over your budget. That way you can truly decide what is best for your ears/pocket. More than anything else LISTEN. Do not buy anything you haven't heard. Even then, listen twice before buying. If you have a significant...

    Best Sub Under $600

Your neighbors are really gonna' love 28hz at 100db. Seriously, loud sounds below 75-80 hz can carry quite well through walls floors and masonry. I live in a row house; physically a lot like a condo. My neighbors have mentioned that the bass really carries. Consequently I don't play loud music...

    beginner building up from scratch

If you're on a tight budget sometimes less is more. If all you want is music, a used integrated amp and a decent (new) pair of headphones are the minimum. A portable CD player can be used as a line input device. When the budget allows add some speakers. If you buy used speakers get a thorough...

    Nordost Audio Cables.

Wonderful! Passion and talent together are what often results in genius. Some products even by a team are classics and deserve recognition as such. Alas most of us have more passion than talent. We have to appreciate the results. That's way there are Enzo's, McLaren F1's, Grand SLAMMS and Martin...
