Just for my uneducated mind what does TL mean? Thanks

TL = sound waves from the back of the woofer is directed/channeled through a chamberlike pathway or a vent , usually lined with low rez . The low frequencies will then exit the cabinet at the end of the line (transmission line).

In the sealed cabinet the waves will bounce off the walls and back out through the woofer cone.

I think I am kinda close with this definition although I too come here to learn all I can.

So I decided to watch Sucker Punch last night since I've seen it many times and I know the sound pretty well. I gotta say I was really impressed with the Carnegie's. It was almost like I was hearing the movie for the first time. A lot of the music seemed cleaner and brighter. But the thing that impressed me the most was the sense of height I got while watching.
Sound seemed to be coming from 3' to 4' above the speakers. Pretty impressive. These things sure seem to throw a higher sound stage than I ever got with the VR 2's.

Same for me and that's what I love about them, it is that "air" they have. They throw a huge soundstage for their size. Even though I love my A/V-2s, these do a better job at doing the "disappearing act" and while it is great for music, movies get a big bonus from it too.

I have talked a couple more people into purchasing them and all are happy, if this wasn't a sale and pricing lasted forever, they would definitely beat out my beloved ascend acoustics..

Does the front sloped face add to this do you think?

It might account for a bit of it, however I had the N2X for a few weeks and pretty much noticed the same characteristics about it. It liked similar placement and threw and equally big soundstage with a flat front

To be honest though, I have changed my processor since the last time I watched the movie so it might not be the speakers by themselves accounting for the improvement.

Speakers make a bigger difference that the processor IMO. When I switched from my Marantz 8300 to the UMC-200, there wasn't a massive difference in sound. The EQ I think did improve sound slightly for movies.

I agree speakers make the Biggest difference in sound, processors and amps don't do much, I am not crazy about room correction, digi eq, and all that stuff, I just cross to the subs, balance the levels with the spl meter and call it a day, I have tried it all different ways, its the best bet.. I tried audy and emo and the pioneer mcaa or whatever it is, and I prefer doing it manually, although the pioneer is the best one, IMO

Read my first post in this thread, it tells you his name and number, he has plenty left, I believe it is an entire run that is marked for closeout, I know a lot of people that ordered them now, I had to get 8 PM's from other audioholics that ordered them, plus we ordered a few sets. The speaker is honestly a steal at $400 a pair and $350 for the center, for $750, a better 3.0 you will not find... especially if you like the piano finish, I put mine with a set of piano subs, its looks pretty impressive all set up in person...

Well I finally received my first shipment, three sheets of no rez from Danny, I was even excited to get those as I know it is the beginning of an excellent "soon to be" new set up. I thank everyone for all of the info posted here and elsewhere and a special thanks to Swerd as he pointed me in this direction along time back Swerd , BSA and John had nothing but good things to say about this brand and I went in based on their thoughts and insight. Cloud finally got his and seemed very pleased so I think so far four for four is pretty good and when I get em set up we should go five for five. I know some other folks got them as well and I hope they are all pleased. I hope they come today......

Towers arrived today, I'm actually surprised they got here already. I have stuff to move around so I won't be ready to sit them up until the weekend.

Is there some fill included with these or do I need to order something like no rez? I know I could always unbox them but I would like to wait until I get their spot all cleared out and ready to go.

seriously though, I am glad to hear you got them fast, I am curious to see what you think of the towers...
