Congrats, Jeff! You might just find yourself ordering more stuff now..."Hey, the shipping is free." :D

The video quality is really good, depending on your internet speed. They offer a number of videos in HD, and I've been happy with it. I have no complaints about the quality.

Yes I agree I have Amazon Prime(Free Movies/TV series only)too, but no option to get 5.1, Dolby +, etc at least not on my Roku. If there is a way please let me know. Maybe it's just for people who rent/buy the streaming movies only?

There are prime videos in 5.1, but surround sound isn't available on all systems. On my PS3, it shows "5.1" in the menu for the shows that have it. I was just watching part of Mission Impossible last night, and it was in surround sound.

Thanks Adam, that's good to know, I did order something weds. night and got it today. Are the HD movies also free for streaming with Prime, my wife likes that she can download books to her kindle:) I supposedly have the fastest internet available from Comcast, it's called Blast or something, they had to swap out my modem for a new one to accommodate the higher bandwidth. Here is a test. Take care my friend.

Adam, I have never used my PS3 Slim for streaming or anything except gaming, I get 5.1 DD on my Panny BD-85, I quess I have to set my PS3 up for my Amazon account, thanks for the heads up, is it any different setting it up than my BD player? Sorry for the lame question.

Oh...you won't have any problems with streaming. :) Yep, they have free movies in HD. I recommend turning one-click off because they do have a lot of content that isn't for Prime free viewing...just a suggestion. ;) "Ewww, that looks good." 10 minutes later, an e-mail arrives..."$9.99?!?"
Thanks again Adam, I do have one-click activated. $9.99

Well, if you get 5.1 on the Panny, then there's probably no real reason to set up the PS3 unless it's in another room. You have me wondering if my BD65 will give me 5.1. I've tried streaming on my Panny G10, but it was stereo...but you know, I haven't tried since I remember Amazon going to 5.1. Hmmm, brb...

That's the movie I watched like 2 weeks ago and it was not in surround 5.1 on my Roku. Nexflix gives you the option if you want it in 2.1 or 5.1(Dolby or Dolby+ if available with the movie). They just put MI on Netflix last week and it's 5.1. Weird.

Watching tonight: Paul McCartney(FEAT. Diana Krall) Live Kisses ON Great Performances tonight Friday, Sept. 7th at 9 p.m. on PBS

The PS3 is a better streamer than any other device I have tried. Whether it is the application on the PS3 or the buffering of the PS3, it just seems to do a better job and the 5.1 capability is always a plus :) I currently have the BD-60 and the Roku XD with 4GB SD card in it and neither does as well with Amazon or Netflix on the same routers.

Adam, one thing I forgot to mention with Amazon, they charged me PA sales tax  when did they start that?

John, is it straight forward setting up the PS3 for Amazon streaming? I'm somewhat lacking in this department. Forgive my ignorance.

They are starting to charge tax in most states because the states got wise to that. The days of tax free online purchases are coming to an end.

For both Netflix and Amazon, you will need to log in on the PS3 and a PC. Choose "register device" on the PS3 from each of the applications (you will need to install them) and login to your account on those services on your PC and they will provide you with a code to enter into the PS3 application and that should be it. Almost sounds a little complicated, but they provide you with all the instructions and it is pretty easy.

Hmmm, my TV is streaming it in stereo. I'll try the BD player next.

It's the beginning of the end, I tell you. Don't worry. We only have about three months left. Those Mayans...they knew their stuff.

:D

That sucks that they charge you sales tax. If they start doing that in Arizona, I'm not sure what I'll do. Paying for tax and shipping (even if it's reduced to $79/year) sucks, but it is convenient.

Thanks John, I think even I could do that.:D

Called Amazon yesterday about my problem. I had to set my Roku to 5.1(had it on 2.1). I thought it worked like Netflix which is already set to 5.1 without having to change the Roku settings. Oh well it works now.:D

Amazon Video Watched Marley(Bob Marley) Great docu. One of the best I've seen. A+ It's Free for Prime members right now.
