I was extremely happy with my BP7001SC & BP7000SC until I gave in to peer pressure on this forum.

I paid $2500 for my BP7001SC. I ended up paying $10,000 for my Orion system (XO + amp).

Sure, the Orion are better. But they are not $7500 better. And now that the Orion are $15,000 + amp, they are certainly not $13000 better.

And the Salon2 are not $18000 better.

Just like the Focal 1028 are not $6000 better than the Veritas that PENG has
Yep just think how much of that cash would still be in your pocket. People on a forum can sure spend YOUR money for you. :D

Are the DT BP7001SC's better than my Klipsch Reference Towers, yes for sure -- already becoming a Classic Speaker (No longer in Production). Are they worth the additional and extra $2K, I don't think so. But w/ the great deal I got on them I could not pass it up.

Finally got the Mid-Range back, and got rid of the horn shrill (fatiguing), not to put down a Klipsch as they will hold w/ many of the best out there.

Approx. twice the weight at 120#'s per box, vs. the Klipsch at 62#. Seven drivers vs. three drivers.

Soon you should know if they are the BEST Value in speakers -- your getting excited, just a late Xmas gift!

Are you going to compare them to your Salon 2's? :D

I am still wondering if Peng has pulled the trigger yet. I know he was looking at Paradigm and B&W's.

True, but that's likely the best bargain in audio right now. Well, we'll find out when you get them anyway. :D
That's what we are betting on.:D

That this $3K speaker will be a $20K speaker Killer.:D

Not to put any pressure at all on Dennis Murphy or anything.:D

Yeah, but wait until you hear that RAAL Ribon....:D
It took me a bit of time to adjust to how smooth it was, but truly I love it....

Why, of course. :D

And I'm sure Nuance will compare them to the Soundscape when he gets the chance. :D
We'll see about that... I have a feeling that once he gets those, they won't be leaving the house.... Plus they aren't the puny little ST's he's got now, which one could just toss in their back pocket.... :p

and he did a great job of it, and I would say the young lad put you on a really good speaker for the money you invested. ;)

ADTG I'm waiting on your review as soon as you get those pretty little churches ( as my wife calls them)

I never said it would be a $20K speaker killer, nor would I be smart to think that, but if it can even come close then Dennis surely has a winner on his hands.

I should be getting my 1028 before Christmas, hopefully Friday the latest. Thank you all for your valuable inputs.
Good luck with them Peng, just in time for your New Xmas gift -- those look like a lovely speaker, and knowing the French I bet it sounds beautiful.

We are loving our Def. Tech. BP7001's -- all dialed in now, and a beautiful full room sound w/ the BiPolar design. We put on "BEAT IT" by MJ, and it just rocked the walls at around 90-91dB in room, and no noticeable compression/congestion at all. Just a lovely sound to them w/ the four 6.5" drivers, and the dual 1" tweets (not silk either).

I will take that bet w/ Nuance, as we will have them for at least 2-3 yrs. unless we find some Salon 2's on sale for $7K/Pair , as the 7001's are very Musical and Warm as well when listening to TAKE FIVE. Very versatile speaker. :D

What about those Vienna Acoustics, B&W 800D, Klipsch Palladium, and all the Wilson Audio speakers?

Of Course, I wasn't talking about the likes of Salon2 or KEF 207/2.:D

I thought about just adding a room. But then I thought it would be so much more fun to build a custom house. I say in 1 or 2 years?:D

Of course, the HT room will be treated or else you guys will never let me rest.

And it must be large enough to fit 5 pairs of towers up front.:D
