I think I have to rephrase my statement. I should have said they where a little disappointing for my expectations.

If I thought the Synchrony sounded just like the Imagine T, I would be disappointed also.

Then again, most speakers above $3K are disappointing to me because most of them just don't sound like they are worth the money. :D

Why buy a $8K speaker that doesn't really sound any better than a $2K speaker, right?

I mean, sure the $8K speaker may sound good. But just as good as the $2K speaker?

Unless other subjective factors play a huge role - like aesthetics and prestige, etc.

Which ML speakers did you audition?

LOL. :D:D

I remember that movie.:D

Sean Olive did a study comparing the ML Vista vs Infinity P362 and found that the majority of the subjects preferred the P362!

I don't know which speakers I would favor in that double-blinded study. Subjectively I would pick the Vantage (not blinded) because they cost a lot more and look much better aesthetically.:D

Here I am at work today while millions of people are still sleeping off their party booze.

I have heard the PSB Imagine T & Martin Logan Vantage.

Although I do not think either one sound bad, I think the DefTech BP7001SC sound better than both of them - but the BP7001SC were in my room, and the PSB & ML were at the store, so the comparison is not quite fair.:D

So important to have those speakers in our rooms.

I think we all may slightly differ on our preferences. Some of these speakers are close enough that it could go either way on any given day. And that is where we "differ". But overall, I believe we all love the "same" sound.

Sooooooooo, anyone buying dream speakers in the next month?:D
One guy on another forum is rebuilding from ground up a pair of DT BP7001SC's and he is in $1925 for all the drivers/xovers/amps/enclosures so far, and still has to build them up. He loved the sound of them so much that he is remodeling them w/ all new parts. He is going to use the 1800W amp in the 7000's since the Impedance is the same for the two various 10" and 14" subwoofers. I would think he is on his own for warranty.

So now that you have your dream speakers, are you listening to all your favorite songs over again?

How do they compare to the Aperion Grand?

All of them, wow that is a lot of tunes over even more years collecting them. Comparison -- vs. the Aperion VGT's the DT BP7001SC's are not even in the same League -- Minor vs. Major league, as the BiPolar DT's have all the bass one wants (now 4 subs - that I did not even plan on in the beginning of the speaker journey), very clear w/ an excellent soundstage presence, and at over 100dB they do not compress/congest and/or distort. They make you feel like your right there w/ the musicians playing in your room!

I think Def. Tech. is going the wrong direction, smaller, lighter, narrower, less drivers, smaller amps, less power handling capabilities, just less of everything to come down on the price spiral (i.e.: Steel yesterday, Plastic today) -- but their newer models can not even compare w/ what was designed in the early 2000's in their lineup, right around the time Def. Tech. built the chamber in Canada -- in fact the 7001's was their first model to go into their newly built Chamber.

I would say that those Mythos ST SuperTowers sound very nice, but I think they are worth only $2K per Pair, not $4K, and the BP7XXX series still has them beat!

Heck, if and when the 7000's come down in price let me know - then might swap out the 7001's to Wides, and use the 7000's up front! Don't forget, watch it daily on pricing, ok? :D I think the right price on the 7K's would be right around $1550 Each, and that still gives them $100 to ship and $100 more in profit per box. But no way, are they worth full list at $2750 per box.

What? So greedy.:D You already have the BP7001SC. Now you want BP7000SC? They are really the same speaker with different subwoofer size.

What's next?

Revel Salon2?

Have those 7000 in my Amazon cart for price alerts.:D

I don't have much faith in studies unless and until I know the details of the setup and conditions, especially when such studies are not conducted by 3 rd neutral parties (not saying that one wasn't as I really don't know).

You will be waiting on that CART to update, but it might be YEARS... :D

That's funny, my CART has one left and one right also, but would not fit in Shopping Cart, Product is way to big [Laughing] - will just leave them in the cart until TAX Returns are over. Since you have the Crystal Ball there, when will the price DROP, and why?

$5498 No Way -- we will need a 60% OFF Discount Coupon Code, do you have one?

Geez, I emailed Digital Craze, and they are RUDE, and will not even Negotiate at all on Price -- They are TERRIBLE -- Stay Away from DIGITAL CRAZE - it should be Digital CRAZY Guys!!

It's not 3rd party, but it was done in the same tradition and standard as Floyd Toole and company.

What these DBTs tell us is the average predicted population preference, not everyone's preference.

For example, Walter might fall into this population. DenPureSound might not.:D

I've heard enough bad things about digitalcraze to stay the heck away from them and would never recommend them ever again. Although they have a solid BBB rating!

What does that tell you? The BBB is full of it!:D

If they can approve such a lousy establishment for a few dollars in their pockets, they are full of crap just like the sorry companies they approve. :D

PENG,

BTW how are those Focal in your room?:D
So far so good. I didn't think the improvements would be great going by memory when auditioning. In my room after some AB, I still say the difference is not great, but noticeable. Very similar SQ overall but just more transparent in general. Probably not $4K better but I have not heard better ones for less so what can I say. Anyway I am still happy so far and I doubt that will change for a few years.

They may be bias, i.e. favoring Infinity, so in terms of the setup and protcol .............

Their setup and testing protocols are very well documented. The most unbiased setup that I know of.

I know precisely what you mean.:D

I also believe that after you audition the B&W 800D or Salon2 or 207/2, you will still feel the same. Once you get to a certain level of great SQ, it's very hard to improve upon.:D

Peng, was that a totally BLIND AB [Just kidding] -- I am sure those Focals easily moved those Energy's aside - I have never heard the Focal lineup, but if they sound as good as they look, WOW your there. :D

Certainly a lot better than the old 4 x 4 arrays (Sweet Sixteen) that led up to the BOSE 901 speakers!

We are amazed at our DT 7K Fronts -- just lovely sounding, very Natural and excellent for the London Symphony Orchestra -- thought we were right there.
