ok i will seal the whole enclosure.. but what do i do about the receiever like you were saying? check my other msg i wrote what i have plugged in
Use the outputs from the headunit listed as subwoofer. There is no need for a y adapter here. The inputs on a mono amplifier are summed internally 999 times out of 1000.

Page 6 of the manual or page 6 of the PDF?? :D There is a difference.
The page in the link with the pictures of the connection has the number 6 at the bottom. One of us may need to update our reader, but the number 6 is right by the picture.

My reader states 8 as well. I was going by the actual page printed on the page itself. 6

The box has to be sealed dude.

What about crossover settings? How do you have that set-up?

Also, as mentioned over-and-over, try a y-cable.

That enclosure needs to be sealed, meaning the top glued on. Then you need to check the crossover settings on both the head unit and the amplifier. Once these are solved for we can look at a few more.

Also, you will not be able to feel as much air moving in the vent(s) because they are actually the correct size to keep the vent velocity low. Rapid air movement is NOT a good thing with vented enclosures as it adds noise and reduces output.

Enclosure design, installation, and setup are the primary keys to getting the most from any system home or car.

Start at the head unit first and use the manual. Please be sure to do these steps with the amplifier off.

Ensure that the crossover (if there is one) is set to off for now. Then ensure that the subwoofer level output from the head unit is set to maximum.

Then turn the amplifier back on. Next ensure your amplifier gain is set to minimum. Make sure that all of the crossover settings are off except for the lowpass crossover. This should be set between 80hz & 100hz or so.

Once this is completed, then with bass heavy music, turn up the head unit volume until you hear audible compression or distortion from the speakers. Back your volume down a little until this compression/distortion disappears. This is now the max volume setting. Then, with the volume at the max setting you just established, slowly turn up the gain on the amplifier until you hear slight distortion. Then slowly back down the gain until you no longer hear audible distortion.

Been involved in serious storms.

Been without power.

Missed a little.

Wondering how "not new to car audio" turned into "what do yu mean by cross over settings?"

Oh my!

As mentioned, time to actually open owners manuals and read them.

Forgot to mention that I am thankful my family is alive, and my property is fine.:)

Absolute wicked storm.

And then realize that the numeric number displayed on your head unit is reference level, and that you should never go beyond this point. If you feel you need to go beyond this point, more power is needed.

I thought you had it going.

It has been mentioned how to do it correctly over-and-over.

It has been mentioned that you NOT try it before it's complete over-and-over.

And yet, you continue to insist on trying it out as you go along.

All of the correct information is in the thread.

Follow the advice that has been given.

I find it hard to believe that you took the time to build a fantastic enclosure, and continue to try to take shortcuts.

Do it right, or suffer the consequences.

4AWG power requires a 4AWG ground. Period.

Who didn't give you enough?

You ordered a kit. I suggested you measure, and order bare wire. It's not someone elses fault that you didn't follow recommendations.

Measure twice, cut/order once. Just like the enclosure.;)
