Made in America Amps, Receivers, Processors?

In terms of made in the USA amps, Definitely ATI amps from Audiogon's Classic Audio Parts = 7 yr full warranty.

I definitely can respect the warranty if nothing else.

The asking price is a mere $8000. USD . Its also compared to the much cheaper Bryston integrated amp costing a palty 3000. USD

What would severly burn my bacon is if these two amps were built in China ( I don't know if or if they aren't..just sayin..) for next to nothing and command such a price anyway. I don't doubt for a 2nd that they are solid products and probably better than most but that price is just too steep to be realistic. At least it offers a 10 yt warranty, the Bryston, a 20yr which is hepas better than any of the other boutique candy out there I suppose.

SimAudio products are assembled in Canada from parts made in North America and Asia. If I was to convert to an all solid state setup from my current CJ/Moscode electronics, SimAudio would be at the very top of my list. It may not have 10 or 20 year warranty, but their gear is pretty much bullet proof and very detailed yet smooth-sounding.

Try Odyssey Audio; designed and hand built in the USA (can't vouch for the parts inside) with a 20 year transferrable warranty.

krell, mcintosh, cary audio - for cary audio at least amplifiers are still made in usa, recent review of 303T cd player noted it was assembled in hong kong.

Also check out SeymourAV's ICEpower based amps. While a bit out of my emotiva-or-bust price range, these things are well-priced and intriguing mono-blocks, and I'm definitely gonna look into their projector screens one of these days.

Center Stage XD is a woven fabric and while it is nearly the smoothest texture woven material available, it is not a sheet of vinyl. For acoustic reasons, this is an advantage, but if you're going to sit 8 feet or closer and tend to watch the pixels instead of the movie, you may have sharp enough vision to make out the texture of the fabric. Request a sample; you'll be impressed.

Okay, if you've got a budget of $2000, your made in USA options are limited for a pre-pro and a 5 or 7 channel amp.

Outlaw carried a Marantz receiver that I believe could be set up as a pre-pro, and with one of their amps (7125) in a package deal you would have been fine, but they only seem to have the $2500 Marantz pre-pro now, too bad.

But you could still get the 7125 for $1000(or ask for a B stock for less) and get a mid level receiver with pre outs and room correction for $6-700 or so, and you would be quite happy. Emotiva would be another budget option for amps, but the Made in China thing crops up again, but to be honest with you, getting truly made in the USA gear with USA components is impossible now. That ship sailed some time ago.

Since you had a receiver before, I would also suggest looking there again, for under $2000 you could get a near top of the line Marantz or Denon, and they would match well with your somewhat brighter sounding speakers.

They do have the SR5005 receiver, which when combined with a Model 7125 goes for $1500.

What about Adcom? I own 3 of their amps, out of New Jersey as I recall if they are still kicking. I am using their 5 channel and their 2 channel 555II. Both are alive and doing well. Got them in 1992.

I'm still considering the Marantz SR7005. The problem is, I've been spending money like crazy lately and will be taking a moment to continue my research and hopefully recover a bit. I'm still hoping to find an American made system of equal or greater abilities.

I always thought the original Acurus/Aragon were made in the USA.

I was always fond of Acurus - hence in the "Acu" in my screen name.

I was following the Indy Audio Labs too, but lost patience, so I just bought ATI amps (made in USA) instead.

As far as I know, that Indy Audio Labs still has not really release any new products yet.

Some of the new Acurus and Aragon products from Indy Audio Labs made their appearance at CEDIA this year. No word (that I have seen) on lineups or where the products are made. Sounds like they are trying to round up dealers at this point.
