There can be only one... of each person. If they live on the alternate universe I think they must die on the island. They can't both live, but they can both die...

That's how they can unite the timelines...
Interesting theory. One that may be correct. I certainly agree with this. Excellent point Clint. Guess we will know soon enough.

That would be logical.

Are we assuming that LOST is logical?:D

Remember how there were TWO Spocks in Star Trek talking to each other?

Now we know what the whispering is all about and that Desmond can be very vindictive in the other reality.
I guess he knows that he's been tossed into a well?

I'm gonna love it when it's over ... ;)

Could be. I must say, however, that the latest episode sure was a wash. That is, I sure did not get much out of it. At this point in the game, I too will be glad when it is all over. ;);)

I can't figure out just why Smoky is bothering with the Locke disguise. Aside from packing his whole self on the plane, it seems like he could move faster and get his way with the humans better with his threat value as the smoke monster.

True, but that is too simple. Nothing about LOST is simple-OR-at least makes much sense. But like many, that formula is what keeps me watching the show. You know the old trying to figure it out thing. Thus, when one question gets answered, then (5)-more pop up. Perhaps, it will all make better sense once it all is said and done. Until then, things are very confusing if not downright complex. ;);)

I figured he's doing to each person what they need to remember... for Locke it was his legs. I think Desmond is the new Jacob...
Actually Clint that makes a lot of sense. Desmond seems to be so involved in the lives of his mates. Kind of in the same way Jacob was doing before being executed. Also, Desmond did push the button over and over again for over 3-years. As such, he may be the most deserving candidate of all. ;):p;)

Well one thing is for certain. That is, all of the people on the island have crossed paths with each other previously before being brought to the island. There are only (4) episodes left. It looks like the final battle is coming. As Clint mentioned previously, it looks like Desmond has become the new "Protector" of the island. Surprisingly, Jack sided with the Smoke Monster not knowing where that was going to lead him. Even more surprising, is that the Smoke Monster does not seem too worried about anything. Once again, I am left trying to decide who is good and who is bad. Is the Whidmore clan the good guys or is it Jacob? Likewise, where exactly does the Smoke Monster fit into things? Guess we all will know soon enough.

Folks, I was a bit surprised the last episode was a re-run. That really ticks me off!:mad: There are only (4) more episodes left. So, why then throw a re-run in there? I am fully aware that they have done that a lot in the past. But, I read that was NOT going to be the case with respect to the "Final" season. In other words, WTF is up with that?:mad::rolleyes:

OK, so how about tonight...a new one. Smokey is now dominating the plot line. Will he get off that wretched island?

Good question. It looks like Old Smokey just may. As you mention, he is dominating the plot. However, Jacob still may have a trick or two up his sleeve as well. Guess, we all will know soon enough given there are only (3) episodes left. Just glad last nights episode was NOT a re-run. More or less, it looks like the sh*t is fixing to hit the fan so to speak. Who will win and who will lose?

I just hope that before it's over, they give some sort of explanation about just WHAT a smoke monster is.

My prediction: Full circle.... which would be such a loser ending... Can you imagine Desmond (or Jack) sitting next to Locke at the end... Locke looks over and says "You know how much I want to kill you right now?" And the cycle starts again. It's been used in literature so many times - it's almost the only way I can see this ending... that this is some sort of "thing" that plays out every xyz years to determine the fate of the world...

Yeah, me too! Does seem kind of weird turning into a smoke cloud while killing people. Only time will tell.

Yeah, but my hope this is NOT the case. However, as you mentioned I would not be too surprised to see and ending /beginning such as you described above. With only (3) episodes left we all will know very soon. ;);)

I think I read an interview with JJ Abrams where he said that there wouldn't be a cheap ending like "it was all just a dream". A back to the beginning end wouldn't be much better.

Hopefully, the ending will be a good one. A back to the beginning would be lame. However, as I mentioned previously I would not at all be surprised if that happens. Especially, given how JJ Abrams has done throughout the series. Thus, it would be nice to see a strong finish for a change.

Wow, what a great episode last night! We now know who Jacob and Old Smokey really are. Sure did not think they were brothers. However, once Jacob put his brother into the "light" he was forever changed. So the question is-"Who is going to win?". Will Old Smokey get off of the island or not? Just a couple episodes left and as such we will all know soon enough. My guess is, Jacob will somehow prevail in the end. Only time will tell.

Brothers, huh?

Well, this is off-topic but I was watching an episode of Prison Break Season 5 and both Jacob & his brother Smokey (before he changed his body to John Locke) were in it!:D

They were playing different characters, of course, but it's funny seeing both of them again on another show!:D
