Folks, I really liked the ending myself. My take is that most of the main characters got what they wanted once they died on the island. You know Sawyer got reunited with Juliette, Charlie with Claire, and etc. It appears that they were all in a state of exile per se, then after a period of personal struggles moved onto something like heaven. Not surprising, Jack was willing to sacrifice his own life for the sake of the survivors, which in turn, lead him to end up being with Kate. She certainly looked stunning to say the least. In closing, it seemed to end basically where it began, but only after many went through a series of personal struggles. However, the ending ended the way things should have been to begin with. Now, that is really cool in my book! ;);)

A friend and I were wondering why Michael wasn't in the church at the end. If anyone's interested, here's my theory on that: his spirit was trapped on the island because he couldn't pass into the light due to his betrayal of our heroes way back when. I'm presuming that his "sins" prevented him from entering heaven and therefore wasn't in the "place they created" nor the church at the end. Plausible?

PS: Kate in that little black dress and heels? Wow. Just oodles and oodles of wow. :)

I took it to mean they died in the explosion (Juliette's death). That is when the alternate reality began which we now know is them in death. I could be wrong though.
But everyone who died wasnt around the explosion were they?

And as for walt, he's trapped on the island with the other people who just walk around whispering. I'm confused as to what happened to the pilot, richard, and anyone else who wasn't in the church. And I'm still confused as to why the man in black turned into a smoke monster when he went down there, but everyone else was fine. It looked like a cool place to hang out despite all the skeletons :D

Yeah, I too noticed that Michael was not in the church. Figured he would be like most of the rest. Also, Kate looked great as always.

Did you notice kate changed clothes from when she entered the church to when we saw her in the church?

There will always be some questions that were not directly answered. You just have to speculate with what questions were answered. There were many themes played out throughout the series. Hence, Good vs. Evil, the Good Guys vs. the Bad Guys, Heaven and Hell, and etc. With that being said, it should not be too difficult to come up with some conclusions. I am sure you have some ideas as to what happened to those NOT in the church. My guess is, they did not fulfill the tasks given to them in a proper manner. As such, they had to wait before making it into heaven.

Also, I liked the way Hurley decided to change the rules. Several weeks ago, he was my pick as the successor to Jacob because, as the Buddha like character, he always knows more than he says and he talks to everybody. In his quiet way, he says that he won't stay on the island all the time and the place is due for some changes. I guess with Smokey gone, he won't have to be there all the time.

Also, after being on and off on whether I wanted a full explanation, I was glad the the island remained a mystery. If they had explained, it would have been a lot of pseudo-scientific prattle. Instead, focusing on having the main characters take their leave with each other before entering the hereafter, it gave the fans a chance to say goodbye and made it seem like the story is really over. I'm really going to miss those folks.

I like the fact that they left the idea of the island unexplained. It's like the Force from Star Wars. Obi-wan's description of the Force in Star Wars was vague and mystical and sounded cool. Qui-gon's description of it -- with midichlorians and symbiosis and whatever -- was more scientific and all, but made it lame.

The more specific information we're given about the island, the less impressive and awe inducing it might seem. So I'm happy to let it be and just wonder about it all. :)

Very interesting perspective. Like you, I will surely miss many of the main characters. That is, I have come to know them in my own way so to speak. Many of which, are excellent actors. Not really too sure which is my over all favorite, but Hurley would be in high contention. The ending ended where things should have been to begin with. For example, Jack finally ended up w/Kate even though she had messed around with Sawyer. Likewise, Sawyer reunited with Juliette. When they were stuck in the 1970's, both Sawyer and Juliette seemed to be quite content with their relationship. Personally, I liked the way it all ended that, of course, left me with such a good feeling. My chance to say goodbye.

Point very well taken here. If all secrets were revealed, then the show would have become so lame. The excitement comes in when we attempt to figure things out on our own. That is what kept me watching the show. Lets just say, I wanted to learn more about the island and why they all were there. Gosh, wasn't it all fun?

I also like the ending, I do not understand why some people can be disappointed, this was the most involving tv show I have seen, I really enjoy every season, I am sad it finish, but I really enjoyed. This type of shows/movies remind me what makes all of this home theater thing worth. In the end it is not about speakers, amps, etc, is about the experience of movies-music, and this show make me feel that. So for the people that are not happy if I can give you and advice, just seat down and enjoy this shows/ movies, and have a good time, do not take it so seriously, leave that for the directors.....
Can not wait to have the complete series on bluray...

Like you, I can not wait to get the entire series on BR. I have never ever bought a series, but LOST will be the exception. Nice write-up.

Right, but why not own a series such as LOST? I mean, I hardly ever buy BR discs anyways. Maybe it is about time.;) My plan is to help stimulate the economy.

See, I knew it all along that everyone on the Island were DEAD.:D

That was the ONLY explanation for all those crazy things that happened.

Death is completely unpredictable will always be a mystery to the living, and so is this LOST show.:D

Now if all those characters on the show HEROES were DEAD too, I might watch it again.:D

Lol. Heroes was awesome when it first came out, but it got pretty bad. I heard they canceled it?
