I kinda watched it. At least, it was on. Just had trouble paying attention. It was easy to tell that they were just going through the motions. I've seen harder hitting in practice. I guess that more people watched it this year than in the past though. A few non-football fans here in the office watched it. Normally when I ask if anyone saw it, they get this bewildered look on their face and say, "but I thought football was over."

Yeah, the big D looked very bad. At least he didn't seem to mind (or care). And leave it to Romo to end the NFC's chances with a late int.

I watched it and all I can say, or ask is WTF is Donovan doing, he still looks like he is in Dallass trying to complete a pass. I'd rather bring back Ron Jaworski than put up with D McNever and his antics, good grief.
LOL. He's the best QB your team has ever had and maybe ever will have. Not sure I'd give up on him just yet. Oh wait you have Vick now. If you'd just start him you might win the Super Bowl next year. I hope you guys don't see the light too soon. I like blowing out the eagles.:D

Seriously it's time to give Vick the team. I remind folks this is the first time in history he'll have had good receivers and a real running game.

Speculation is Freeney will not play (if he does he will not be 100%). I'm still going with the Colts in this superbowl.

Same here. However, if the Saints get to Peyton like they did Favre, then things may be different. Just hope Favre is okay given how bad he got hit during the play-off game between the Saints and the Vikings. Guess we all will know soon enough.

Cheers,

Phil

Should be an excellent game. Hoping for a shootout down to the 4th quarter. I don't want the refs to interfere to much in this game. Seems to be the new trend with all these stupid rules in place now.

The rules stink and make the game unfair. I'm all for protecting QBs and receivers, but we gotta make it clear. If your hand touches the head(flag).

I dunno, its really close. The only thing New Orleans has definite edge on is the ability running the ball. Both two extremely talented teams.
And big-play defense. Saints had 39 takeaways (for 8 defensive TDs) during the season. Indy had 24 and 2 defensive TDs. That led to a TO differential of +11 for the Saints and +2 for Indy.

They beat the Vikings by forcing TOs. Could easily play a big part in this game too.

You could spin it that way and to their credit the Saints defence is very opportunistic but the Vikings IMHO really beat themselves.

You obviously have me confused with someone that gives a rats a$$ about vick, I hope that both he and Donovan get sent packing and we finally go with Kevin Kolb draft a QB and pick up an AJ Feeley type to back up. Please refrain from the whole Donovan is the best blah blah blah, how many Eagle Games do you get to watch, I have season tickets for almost twenty years and I can assure you that its not about the true fans giving up on Donovan it is really about the way Donovan has given up on the team, just like they go through the motions at the Pro Bowl, D Nabb simulates that play in season play, he needs a change, we need a change it really would equate to a win win situation, no need to prolong the inevitable We drafted Kolb to be our eventual starter and it is now eventual, :D

Go Colts, ughh that hurts but who dat needs to stop dat, its annoying, :(

The Saints created turnovers all season, at a rate of more than 2 per game. It has from the beginning been one of GW's primary focuses and every defensive practice starts off with a series of turnover "stations" where the defensive players practice takeaways.

In the playoffs, the Vikings shot themselves in the foot a bit with the number of TOs, but the Saints directly caused at least 3 of them. Creating 3 turnovers in a playoff game is huge. If they can create just 1 or 2 against the Colts, it could easily determine the outcome. Taking the ball away from the other team is about as big a play as you can make.

Amusingly, I just went to NFL.com to look up some stats and replays from the Vikings game, and the headline story is "KINGS OF THE TAKEAWAY."

Quote from the article:

"Sure, some of the balls the Saints' defenders end up with were because of mistakes of other players. But when a team amasses 39 takeaways in the regular season and then adds seven more in two playoff games -- that number could have been closer to 10 had the Saints simply fallen on fumbles by the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game instead of trying to scoop them up -- there's more than mojo working in their favor."

It think that's where the seams fall apart for the Colts. They can't stop the run and New Orleans can run. The main thing I want is an overtime finish.

LOL Kolb:confused:

Who is Kolb? I hope you do send Nabb and Vick packing it would be a great way to insure you don't compete next year too. Nothing like beating the Eagles. Mike S has taken over Washington so that move might land you where you guys belong at the bottom of the division. :p

Of course if Romo comes back down to himself you might have competition down there.

They shut down the run;) New Orleans doesnt run the ball like Baltimore did or the Jets, and they got trumped.
Dont make me hold a grudge until next FF season starts:p:D

LOL Yeah and that's all that Baltimore can do.

The Saints have the best QB in the league and a running game. Minnesota has a better defense than either team and couldn't stop the saints. The Jets could barely stop the Colts. So the reality is we should see a high scoring game unless it rains. Then all bets are off.

Anyone betting the over/under on how long Carrie Underwood sings the national anthem.

Brees is better than Manning:confused: A shootout is the saints best bet. FWIW the Colts defense is vastly improved from a year ago and in games without Freeney they are statistically the same.
