I had a great day yesterday having a burger and fries with The Rickster we got together to shoot the sh!t and it was awesome, we met at an upscale burger joint , maybe they offered much more but we only had the burgers, I did notice that there was a private cigar club inside the place and there was also fine dining, Italian no less, but we opted for the bar and a burger, hey I'm easy going and it was only lunch, the place offered a very nice selection of their own brew made on the premises and boy it was tasty the bartender kinda rocked too she was built like a, umm she was built nice, mid twenties long dark, I guess that's another story as well. Rick helped me out by handing off the Polks that Walter was kind enough to give me, the speakers need some attention but all of the drivers look like they are in really good shape so it is a project for the winter months that I'll talk about later. Rick is an upstanding guy and shows a lot of interest for us local guys to get together, kinda like a NE get together could be a lot of fun, I thought that maybe a baseball game in the spring or something like that, matching caps and all, lol. Whatever we can plan to get together would be great. I am glad I went through with the meeting and all as I could tell that Rick was a genuine good person through our pm and I was met by exactly that a first class gent all around, I will attend one of his BBQ this new year coming and hope that more of you guys can make it as well, I know we would have an excellent time.
Rick, thanks for the afternoon and thanks for your help with the Polks , I really do appreciate all that you have done to get those to me, as for lunch, heck we don't have to wait until next year to get together again so lets keep in touch maybe we can meet up again in the near future.

After enjoying meeting a few AH guys last October at the Oregon GTG (Tommorrow, Average Joe, majorloser, griffinconst, and others), I have to agree that this sounds like a great idea. Even though I don't know you or Rick, you're probably first class all around. I know I am .

I would be totally down for a NE get together. There aren't too many of us on the forum who live in this area (at least from what I can tell) so it would be nice to meet whomever I can. Instead of hats we can make t-shirts that say "audioholics do it louder (and with uncompressed audio)" :D

I am glad that some of you guys agree so instead of just talk we will have to make an attempt to bring this thing to life, I know the Holidays can be very fatiguing and pretty much rob us of any free time ,but I am sure this spring we could plan something. That being said, we have some time to get er done, :).
Have a great evening !

There's a whole bunch of guys up there. You might want to have a formal GTG if somebody wants to give up their whole home over a whole weekend.

It's a lot of fun. :)

You guys need to get a move on and catch up with the Florida Gang. :p

I would volunteer, but I don't think my mom would appreciate it lol

Very cool that you two got together!

A NE GTG would be sweet. I can't host because the house is "in the process" let's just say (LOL) but I would be very willing to help anyone who could host.

...I think an (un)official "Audioholics Twister Team" shirt would be funny as Hell.:D

If you guys are serious about a get together I am sure that I can arrange a free weekend at the hotel where I work. Let me know and I'll get on it. Lets do it. It's 1 1/2 hours north of NYC in the beautiful catskill mountains. I'll also arrange for free golf.

I'm not much on golf but it would make for a wicked fun spectator sport in February if the tequila was free for the players. :)

Walter, that is an amazingly generous offer! Free hotel and golf.

I think that folks up in your area should seriously consider that! Well, and maybe bring you a little something. :D

No golf. How's that? We do have near beer.
Don't rule out the golf on my account. How would this work? Would the resort provide rooms to audition equipment in? How many? What size? Where does the gear come from? Who's bringing what? Do we alert the media? When? Who? How many? Are we gonna let Markw come? :D:D:D

I hope someday to hook up with folks around this area. I really want a speaker on the level of Wmax and TLS Guy the day it happens, but we'll see.

Wow, I see this thread really took off.:D

Hey Rob, I had a great time meeting you too! Sounds like we have lots in common, even outside of AH .
Audioholics and the Inter-Web has really done a lot in getting like minded people together.
And yes, I'll round up the usual suspects for a BBQ this summer.:)

Judging from how nice a job you did on your subs, I can't wait to see what you do on those two Polks.

Also, Thanks to Walter!
The myriad pieces of equipment he's selling and / or generously giving away;
that's really what made all this possible.

Rob, Thanks for lunch, that was very nice of you!

That sounds good.
Just don't let Adam or Alex pick out the shirts; otherwise we'll end up with pastel colored shirts and a 'man purse.':D
