Rivers is gonna show Eli how a REAL quarterback plays the game.

Can't wait. Sucks that it won't be on TV here though, (damn Bay area), so I guess I'll have to go to a sports bar.
You never know when the Giants will come out of their funk. When hitting on all cylinders, they can be a tough team. It's just a matter of when that happens.

VJ is a receiving star

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/11343/san-diegos-jackson-is-becoming-a-receiving-star

Nnamdi Asomugha was one of the last Oakland players to leave the visitor’s locker room Sunday after a loss to San Diego. While putting on the finishing touches to his designer outfit, Asomugha discussed the talents of one of the best players on the field that day.

“I really like Vincent Jackson,” Asomugha said. "I just like his game. He plays with a lot of confidence. He knows he’s going to make a play. I think he is on his way [to becoming an elite receiver]. If he continues to work hard, he’ll get there.”

Asomugha’s praise is high. The astute cornerback is probably the best in the NFL and is also a top-flight student of the game.

Jackson has been one of the most productive receivers in the NFL this season and the fifth-year veteran is becoming dominant. He gave Oakland fits Sunday, catching seven passes for 103 yards. He had five catches, including a touchdown, on one series.

At 6-foot-5, 240 pounds with excellent speed for a receiver, Jackson can be hard to contain. He can take over games. He is San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers’ favorite target and the two have become one of the best tandems in the NFL. Jackson is superior in both the possession game and in the deep game.
Can NY's weak secondary cover VJ and Gates? Don't think so.

The Giants secondary will be shell shocked, and I think Bradshaw is sporting a bad wheel so Jacobs will get the majority of the runs, I don't see the Gnats getting out of the funk this week, not really sure of their schedule but hopefully they will fall too far behind before they show any signs of life,:D

My hopes and your hopes don't match up very well.

I know ,I'm kinda sensing that from you, :) ,as an avid die hard Eagles fan I would not be terribly upset with a Giant meltdown so to speak, geez before you know it they will want Coughlins job again, they are not patient in NY, I heard people saying they have waited an eternity for a W.S. Win,.
I am more focussed on the Sunday night showdown with DallASS, I hope it's colder than a witches TiTle for the nfc east on the line, :D

I'm torn. Can't you both find a way to loose? (I heard that snow may be in the forecast)

Chemistry starts at the top. So I wouldn't be shocked to see the blame put on Coughlin. I think he may have gotten too soft on them. Bring back a little of that discipline he used to teach. I think that when he finally puts his foot down and tells them to shape up or ship out that we'll see a turnaround. He doesn't need to be replaced. He just needs to go back towards the direction he used to follow. Just not all the way. He used to be too tough. When he lightened up, they got better, but now he's too light. Too many stupid mistakes being made. People missing assignments all over the place. Even when they have a positive play, it looks like they stumbled into it instead of TAKING IT. At 5-3, there is still time.

Well, the Colts played another "nail biter" today, and managed to come up with the win. 8-0 so far. It looked like the might go into over time against Houston. This team is really impressing me now. I enjoyed the game.

Every dog has its day, and today its Dariens. I can't wait to hear all his smack talk  . Well enjoy this week Darien.

I have to say the Giants gameplan was uninspiring. Running the ball was sucessful early on in the game and they abandoned it, pretty dumb move considering their run-d is vulnerable. Lots of penalties leading to 2 and 3rd in long situations.... also like many head coaches Coughlin made the mistake by deciding to " play the not to lose strategy" late in the game after the last turnover in which they kicked a field goal instead of trying to atleast bury them right there. Not even one real attempt to try to score a td. Don't coach scared, it loses football games.

What was Wade Phillips thinking accepting that false start penalty making it 3rd and long for Philly rather than declining the penalty and forcing 4th and 2-3 on their own 40 and making Philly punt? Bad coaching....lucky it didn't cost Dallas.

Anyways, good game so far. Westbrook not playing is a big loss. Both defenses are playing well....

Give me a break. We are winning that's all that matters. Great game so far. Much better than the last Eagles vs Cowboys.

It does matter, I have seen him make similar coaching mistakes time and time again with the Bills. Romo messed up large at the end of the half not seeing his te wide open in the endzone. Should have been a touchdown instead of a fg and its all his fault. Philly just scored . Romo better step it up  ....still an excellent game.....

Not winning at the moment.

Little things like that cost games.

Fortunately for your Saints you have a competent head coach.
Funny to hear people say that now, as many many Saints fans have spent the last 2 years calling for his head. Pass-happy, unbalanced offense, "video game" Payton can't close games or come from behind, etc.

It's amazing what a ball-hawk, aggressive defense can do for an offense's balance.

I've always liked Payton. He is agressive, coaches to win, seems very competent with his clock managment, challenges and timeouts. He kind of reminds me of Billichick in that way which funny enough also runs a very "pass happy" offense. One thing in common with both of these teams is a great quarterback. I can also see the argument of people being pissed with not running the ball enough. Its a valid criticism.

I've always been a big fan of him too. I've been saying since mid-2006 that he's easily the best coach the Saints have ever had. Payton and Loomis (the GM) have done an amazing job putting this team together over the years. Adding Gregg Williams and the player's he's essentially brought in have really put this team over the hump.

Many people don't realize that the Saints lost five games by 3 points or less last year. They were literally 18 points away from a 13-3 record. Now they have the defense and the power running back they didn't have last year, and they're laying waste to the NFL.

What a play by Miles Austin. He just made the CB look silly. I have to admit that was beautiful to watch. Great play.
