You can't just trot out their $4/day typical wage without showing what their cost of living is. "1 Mexican peso = 0.077207 U.S. dollars", so $4/day comes to almost $52 and that's not much less than the US minimum wage. What's your point?

First of all, you ALSO didn't say anything about their cost of living. Exchange rate does not equal cost of living. Have you ever even been to Mexico? Things there don't cost the 1/13th that you are trying to indicate. Second of all, 4 dollars a day is 4 dollars a day, considering they have to pay the thousand dollars in USD, not in pesos.

1) I've been through the process. To say I am ignorant of it is ridiculous.
2) Life never comes with a guarantee of any kind. There was no guarantee that they would let my wife come here. I had to leave her behind for 9 months while we waited. Do you think that was easy? Do you really believe that I didn't explore EVERY LEGAL possibility to get her here ASAP?
3) You don't have to be a citizen to work here. That took us 8 years.
4) You don't have to have a green card to work here. That took 3 years.
5) You can get a work authorization to work here. That took a few months after she got here.
6) You do not have to be sponsored by anyone to apply and be approved for a visa. It just makes it easier.
7) My wife was making $20 per WEEK! She found a way.

All those here whining about Mexicans but not advocating something to change the situation must realize that putting up a thousand mile long impervious wall and spending billions and billions rounding them all up and deporting them isn't a viable solution. I guess you just like to whine.

I'm not trivializing anything. Step one. Apply (fill out the paperwork) This is how it's done legally. It was very hard to do and took time, but it's the legal way. Your way is illegal. Do you even understand illegal?

Sounds like you may be confusing temporary migrant workers, with Illegal Immigration.

When they send home American Dollars they can exchange them for $13 Mexican Dollars.
