Yeah- but there was a good side to that cereal. If I remember correctly, something like half of the profits made from that cereal went to charities related to autism in honor of Doug's son.

I was going to college in upstate NY at that time (Rochester), and Flutie was hugely popular and beloved by almost everybody. People were buying the cereal by the case as a way to show him how much they cared about him and his kid.
Flutie is a great guy. TO is a egomaniac.

Flutie was a class act. I liked him when he played in Bolts.
Yeah he did. WTF happened to that team. You guys went 14-2 looked like a super bowl team and then dove. I didn't think Norv Turner could drop a team that much. You still have all the talent though. Rivers, Gates, Chambers, LT, Sproles.

Man, so much Norv hate around here. Flutie was released in 05. That was a little before Norv got here. I wasn't super thrilled when Norv got the job here either, but I can't argue with his post season success. Marty never won a single playoff game.

Yeah but I still think firing him was a mistake. You guys lost because of matchups. Everyone know the Pats beat the chargers. Colts beat the Pats. And Chargers beat the Colts. Just the way things go.

Norv is still one of the best OC's in league history. Your QB will be kickass until he leaves. Troy Aikman was a product of Turner.

The Chargers can still pop off a Super Bowl IMO. They need to be healthy to do it though.

Injuries really seem to decide super bowls these days more than pure talent.

My team went 0-4 when Romo was out and it just demoralized the team. His injury ruined the season. Plus we lost our best player in Felix Jones.

I pray we stay healthy 1 year so we can make a deep run. Thankfully Dallas got rid of the locker room problems. Greg Ellis, TO, and Pacman Jones were damn idiots Roy Williams checked out mentally too.

At least my college team is projected to make a bowl for the first time in like 16 years.

Can somebody remind me how many championships Rivers has won? How about the last time he won a super bowl MVP? My memory must be failing me.... I can't seem to remember anything!!!:eek::eek::D
He did bring tears to Jay Cutler's eyes :(

Flutie's parents live 4 houses down from me. I talk to his dad all the time. But I've never seen Doug.

Anyone going to watch the Eagles next pre season game? It sounds like Vick may get the start or some playing time and I'm dying to see what kind of reception the fans of Philly will give him. Any snow in the forecast...lol!

I think it should have been Strahan and the entire Giants Defense that shut down Brady and the best offense since the 49ers and Joe Montana.

The thing that sucked about that Super Bowl most is that I already knew who'd win before the playoffs even started. It was so obvious as the game drew near too. The Giants Defensive line was the answer to Brady.

That's cool. If I saw him I'd just leave him alone. I don't believe in bothering celebrities.

You could always tell if Flutie was in the game. His dad would hang the team flag from the house. No flag, No Flutie.

Not me. If they're not busy, I go right up to 'em. After all, it's people like me that allow them to live their opulent lifestyles in the first place right?

I'm looking at my pic with Junior Seau that's on my desk right now. :D

My belief is that if they are doing a promotion, go shake their hand, get an autograph, whatever works. But when they are off the clock, especially when they are with their kids, let them be. They have a right to private time.

Many years ago I was at a first round of a golf tournament. Late in the afternoon I was along side a fairway when Jack Nicklaus came up next to me while following his son. I thought but decided against asking him about what kind of shot his son needed play as it was uphill and semi blind. In the five minutes a few fans came up to shake his hand. As he left he turned to me and very quietly nodded his head and said "thank you". That was worth the silence.

That's cool. But if famous people don't want to be bothered, then they shouldn't have become famous. But I'm not going to accost someone when they're walking around the mall or something like that. I got Junior's picture after a game at his restaurant, (where he and MANY Chargers players would usually hang out after games). I waited until I saw he was done eating, then asked him for a picture.

It must be hard for people like LT. He gets absolutely MOBBED when he goes places. I go to mini camps every once in a while and when practice is over, everybody runs right up to LT.
