That reminds me of when I was young and my bank pissed me off. I got all mad and threatened to take all my money out of their bank and move it somewhere else. The little old lady looked at me with not even a smile and said "feel free to take your $42 and deposit it somewhere else son".

I picked up 14 pair as well. Great deal. Monoprice is a great site for cables and connnectors.

I wonder if I'll get my banana posts today. It might be too soon, but they were shipped out on Thursday...so maybe (fingers crossed).

Also, now that I have a TV stand that is centered within my recessed wall, my system looks lopsided with just one PC13-Ultra. Hmmm. :D

I've been running my IPS-1 for the past week and haven't noticed the hum. With just three of the amp modules plugged in, it's pretty quiet. Being summer time, though, there's more ambient noise with fans and A/C - so that might be part of it. It is quite a bit quieter now, though.

Hello Adam.

I've been following your Amazon.com ordeal with the flat panel. I really feel bad for you. Has there been any progress in the situation? Is there an ETA?

Regards.

Thanks! I appreciate that.

They shipped out a replacement that is scheduled to arrive next Thursday. If it's like last time, it won't get to the local delivery company until Thursday, and then I'll need to schedule a delivery time.

Amazon really hasn't been bad about this, but they did at least one thing that upset me. They shipped the replacement before I said that I wanted one - I wanted to discuss getting Saturday delivery (so no time off from work) and a different delivery company before signing up to do this again. Had they told me that they were going to ship me the same model, regular shipping (so it would take over a week), with the same delivery company (that I don't want in my house, and that doesn't deliver on the weekends), then I probably would have politely asked for a refund and bought it down the street at Best Buy. My e-mail to them was pretty clear about what I wanted (I thought, but maybe not), and I felt like I lost control over my purchase when they shipped the replacement out without my okay.

It's been surprising to me that they are taking about 46 hours on average to respond. They normally respond within 8 hours. Heck, if I have a shipment of groceries arrive damaged, they have another package on it's way the next day. TVs must go through a different department.

Just wanted to give an update on the Amazon transaction. I just got off the phone with them (the CS rep called me). I had already calmed down and realized that they were doing what they thought was fair, and I was pretty happy with them again, but they really made me happy today. The woman who called had arranged for a Saturday delivery for me (woohoo!!!), as well as giving me a refund to account for the current price of the TV - and that is above and beyond because they don't price match anymore. She was very, very nice.

I had already decided (and informed them before today) that this wasn't going to affect my other purchases from them, with the sole exception that I had decided not to order another TV for my parents from there. I think that they are an outstanding company, but ordering anything that requires me to be home for both delivery and return (if required) isn't a good fit for me.

Hopefully I didn't come across like a jerk to them. I fear that I did. I won't say that I'd recommend ordering a TV from them if you work on weekdays because of the potential delivery/return issues, but I still recommend them as a great place to do business.

Thanks again to all of you for supporting me and putting up with me on this.

Thanks for the update Adam. So the new arrival date will be this coming Saturday? Does that mean that it will be through a different shipping company as well?

Same shipping company, but possibly different delivery people because the company doesn't normally deliver on Saturday. If it's the same people, so be it. One guy was cool, and the other guy was just inconsiderate but not a real jerk. I'll make sure there's no way of getting on the carpet unless someone were to actually do it on purpose.

Well, the TV is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow between 9 and 1. My front door leads into a tiled hallway that is about 10 x 5 feet. I plan to block off the doorway to the carpet. This shouldn't seem like a douche-move to the delivery guys, as it (legitimately) will be used to keep Niki away from them and the TV. This will keep them off the carpet initially. If I get the sense that they're cool, then I'll ask to check the TV screen. If it looks good, then I'll offer them some cash to help me get the TV on to the stand. The service that I got from Amazon didn't include set-up, so they have no obligation to do that for free. If they don't seem cool, then I'll just thank them and ask a neighbor down the street to help me out.

Will do. You'll know as soon as the shippers leave with the broken TV. :)

Hey, I ned you to pick up my planters which are in Phoenix and bring them to me before the 8th of July.
Which ones did you get? If I like them, then I might just pick them up. My apologies in advance if they get lost during delivery. ;)
