Let me hear your thoughts. I think this is the final design we are going with. It has been a lot of work trying to figure out what we liked but we both seem happy with what we came up with. The Arbor and outdoor kitchen will be at the left end of the pool. I have yet to design it.

The pool company will be here tonight to go over some more detail. I have yet to hear a price so I may back out of the whole mess, change my name and move to Montana before it is all said and done.

Looks nice!

How long is the pool? I'm wondering how good it is for swimming laps.

Bad idea, I will probably have to sell all my HT stuff in order to fill the dang thing with water....;)

Party @ PD’s house!! I’m bringing the beer!

That looks super nice man, can’t see how anyone would scoff at the design. Now, money on the other hand…

Who needs HT stuff? I wouldn't go to a GTG to check out A/V gear. Heck, I can drive to the store for that. I'd just want to hang out with some folks from around here. And drink.

Plane ticket: $400
Hotel Room: $100
Slammin' a beer while watching P-Dawg apologize to the missus after he destroyed another woofer: Priceless

Be careful if you're going to have all that foliage around your pool. I was going to do that when we had our pool put in and the pool guys talked me out of it, and man, am I glad they did!

One good rain/downpour and all that pretty topsoil ends up in your pool. I have friends who have that setup around their pool and they ALL say they wish they wouldn't have done it. You'll be cleaning/replacing your filter twice as often also.

I don't mean to be a downer because that is one SWEET looking pool, but I thought you ought to know.

Greg,

Pool looks really nice. I like it. Just be sure to put your outdoor speakers in, so you can bring the home audio to the pool area...

You and your wife have very good taste!!!

That's pretty darn sweet, Greg!

Is that a jacuzzi/hot tub to the left or a fountain?

That is a very nice pool, the designer/builder definitely has mad skills to come up with that look.I think its very cool that they can have such a good size pool look somewhat compact so to speak for its size it blends in nicely, good choice, hopefully you are satisfied with your finished product. :) .

Well its been a weird weekend. We recieved a call from Carolyn's family right before the pool guy got here on Friday. Her Mom had what looks to be a mild stroke. They are still doing tests but they seem concerned that there is something else going on too. For now, she is doing good but the tests they are doing has me thinking that they are looking for some type of MS.

I am not sure if it was the stress of all this or not but I was not clicking well with the pool builder and he was really getting on my nerves. I am having a couple of more builders come out after we figure out what is wrong with her Mom.

EDIT: Oh sh!t, I didn't read the whole thread before goofing off. Sorry to hear the bad news there.
I'll leave the post in case you need a chuckle.

I helped some guys build a pool down Ft. Worth way.
I bent the re-bar for the corners.

You could DIY and save some money. I could like give you pointers and stuff. Even though I only ever worked on one I swam in a bunch of different ones. With my help you could knock this out over the course of a few weekends. Carolyn could help. Matter of fact tell her to start diggin'. That is step one.

Let me know when you're ready for step two.
You got a hose? :D

Sorry about the news bro. Support to your wife too, that's tough.

As far as the pool, there are lots of things that make a difference with a pool. It has to work with the house, the yard, etc.

I like infinity pools a lot, with good lighting. Basically the difference is the drain is on the outside, so it floods into the drain. With the bottom painted black, it can look very trick.

Depending on how much sun your pool gets is if you'll want it heated or chilled. They have heater and chiller single units now, and I highly recommend a chiller for the summertime. They aren't that expensive, the electricity can be though depending on the size of the pool.
