Tonight it's a favorite, Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. If this were classical music, somebody would invent a 2 dollar name like "neo-constructivism" for this CD. Millions of little pieces, a note here, a ding there, a piano line, bass notes, keyboards and synths and some drums, all put together into a brilliant whole. Random noises, xylophones, crescendos, echo-ey, atonal singing and quiet vocal choruses and swirling organ chords all add into the chaos. Now and again a simple, easy simple song happens. When it's all done, however, it all sticks together and make sense. Wow.
