Looks like its time to trade up my 5910CI :) This is the player I've been waiting for!
Be sure to be sitting. The audio and video from that deck is going to blow you away, especially through your speakers and other Denon gear.
You may have to excuse yourself to clean out your droors!:D:D

I am willing to bet 20 bucks on you having this within 4 months.
Man, PDawg, you're really going out on a limb on this one!!
I don't think you'll get many takers...we could start a raffle on the actual date when he gets his mitts on one, though. ;)

Internet music?

When I read the "oops" premature post/article on this last night from Audioholic's homepage, I could have sworn that it said this player could access "entertainment" from the internet. I assumed that meant music n a fasion Samsung's currently doing w/ its 2550 layer (model number may be incorrect).

How accurate is this?

[NOTE]
Regardless of this capability, Denon's clearly going to remain king of DVD player awesomeness.:D

Just give the Dawg his $20.00 and be done with it! We all know you want it:p:D:).
Yeah, you know I want it. I mean if my main focus were equally between Blu-ray and SACD/DVD-A, then I would probably get it. Heck, I may end up getting it anyway.:D But I can promise you right now that it won't be 4 months, so the Dawg won't get his $20!:D

It will be 1 yr.:D

What?

You mean the Denon Link cables that Denon includes with their 3930/5910 players won't be any good?

Oh, you mean these cables won't be able to handle the DLink 4th Edition, but the $500 DLink cable will?:D

That's another thing.

Okay, people who are into this A1UDCI player most likely already have either the AVP-A1HDCI or the AVR-5308CI. Both of these already have Silicon Optix Realta, Burr-Brown PCM-1796, Internet Music, Satellite Music, Network Music, etc., and all HD Audio surround sound decoders.

So they really would not need all those things in the player.

But, it's the flagship player. Heck, the current flagship 5910CI is already $3800. So this one will seem like a BARGAIN with the inclusion of blu-ray, Balanced outputs, & DLink 4th Ed.:D

Shoot, I'm trying to talk myself OUT of this, but I'm in.:D

HDMI v1.3 vs. DLink 4th

Okay, I just thought of another thing.

The new A1UDCI will most likely have the HDMI v1.3 (like the DVD-3800BDCI).

This will carry both DVD-Audio & SACD DSD & TrueHD/DTS-MA/PCM.

So why would we use both DLink & HDMI v1.3 ?

Gene, so will D-Link 4th Ed bitstream TrueHD & DTS-HD MA?
No only the clocking for reduced jitter. The bitstream for HD formats will still pass thru HDMI.

I think that's going to be a problem.

You can only do D-Link Audio or HDMI MCh Audio, not both, correct?

In both the 5910CI and 3930CI, if you turn D-Link to ON, the HDMI 5.1 Audio is turned OFF.

Obviously it's different for this player. I'd imagine once you set it to Dlink4 it will output audio via Dlink for CD/DVD-A/SACD and the master clock when doing TrueHD/DTS HD while sending those bitstreams via HDMI. I will do an interview with Denon Jeff once I get my review sample in a few months to clarify.

"With the new advanced DenonLink 4th used in an hdmi connection as well as for bluray read from hd audio discs the master clock that operates the D/A convertor of the av surround amplifier is transmitted to the player enabling the circutry to be shared by the same clock thereby achieving digital audio transmission with virtually no jitter."

Denon is marketing directly to Acudeftechguy now? WTF!:D

I just sold my DVD-3930CI. I'm really crazy.

I bet I can get this player @ J&R for $2,800.:D

I wonder if Denon will make any new plain SACD/DVD-A players to replace the DVD-3930CI or DVD-2930CI?

Or will they just make Blu-ray "Universal" players from now on?

I think you are sane, for what it's worth. I think I just enjoy your constant upgrading.

Me, too. Although I think he does teeter on the edge of sanity. Like remember when Papillon was in the cell and ate the piece of paper? Like that. :)
