Why PSW 505 sucks for $290?

Just for clarity, we have a pretty diverse group of members at Club Polk. You won't find much of love for the subwoofers of the past there either. I don't know what fan boy site your referring to but it ain't over there.

If you have full on Lyme, you might get silly. Ticks freak me out. I don't like them in any way shape or form.

What do you do? I'm a field rat for Verizon so I had all kinds of creepy crawlies and animals on me at one time or another.

I had a squirrel jump on my ball cap when I opened a telco cabinet. The SOB was probably just happy to get out but he didn't relay any of that information to me ahead of time.

Ticks have gotten really bad in our area in the last 3 years. I have 7 acres of property. I keep all the grass short around the house and surrounding area where the dog can play which cuts down on the ticks substantially. It is way too much to cut 7 acres of property so there are parts that are fields which are tick havens. Even staying in the short grass I still get ticks as well from working in the garden, the dog does not help either. I have had many attached to me but luckily they have never been deer ticks (the ticks that carry lyme disease), they where either dog ticks or wood ticks. Its not a fun experience when you notice when they are attached to you, especially in your groin area.

Don't worry, you're cut in on the deal. It is going to be a 8x8x8 foot box with 8 18" drivers covered in brown shag carpet. The logo is a bed pan.

I wasn't aware that the Human ear was the only way to hear something. Do you know that the human ear hears a different frequency response as different volumes?

Pretty much confirms what I've heard the few times I've listened to this sub in store. It will get you around 25hz in room, but the bloom in the upper reaches can get extremely boomy.

As doro said, this is one of the better previous rev Polk subs. At < $300 it's decent, but there are better at that price and far better at the $4-500 price point.

I'll tell you why the PSW sucks.

Because this subwoofer is better:

I built it myself out of a Makita Drill Shipping box, Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers, and random Kenwood parts.

The result? Better that $290 spent... but it lacks a bit in the low end
